KF,

Do you believe that same-sex marriage will ever be illegal anywhere in the US again?

DS, I think last days fatalism is an error. On reading my Bible, at Pentecost, Peter spoke of “in these last days” as we also see in Heb 1. Messiah is eschatological, and arguably the frame extends to Jeremiah and Daniel: 2,600 years so far, the time when God goes global, then as gospel goes, revival meets resistance by riot. And riot is very bad governance in any of the nations that are created by and accountable to God. Where, God is creator of the nations and the gospel has an intrinsic ethical component which is part of how it teaches the nations. Including as we can see in Alfred’s Book of Dooms and in Justinian’s Corpus Juris Civilis (in its embedded textbook, the Institutes) — not perfect, but instructive. So, too, the parables of the stewards found wanting should serve as warning enough that we must not be found idle or refusing to teach the nations i/l/o Messiah. Where, Gal 3:14 is clear that in the seed of Abraham, the blessing of Abraham is come to any nation that will but receive it. So, the current guilty secret of our civilisation is a bad sign, and it is tied to the Rom 1 collapse of ethics and good order that marks communities in stubborn rebellion against what they know or should acknowledge concerning their Creator. I can find no justification whatsoever for enabling error by silence; especially ruinous error. The lesson of the White Rose movement on how the idolatry of political messianism works ruin should also be noted. I think too that Schaeffer’s thought on the line of despair has somewhat to teach. DV, more later, today, I handed over a draft. KF

DS, wrong question. The question that gives me nightmares and day stallions is, will the US survive the current tidal waves and moral collapse, along with Britain, France and Germany? As for the little archipelago to the south, who knows? KF

If there was a Truth in Blog Naming requirement they'd have to rename UD "Gordon Thinks About Dudes Gettin It On dot com"

Not sure what all those periods are doing in comment 276.

Clearly that's a rambling stream of consciousness best represented by a paragraph length run-on sentence and they should be edited out accordingly.

That is not the case I am speaking to, where actual text in one clause establishing a procedure is being flouted and actual text in another place is being in effect re-written, and on the claim that it is established that courts can rewrite Constitutions like that. If you do not see that that is a very dangerous pattern of behaviour, then it is revealing that you cannot see it..

Damn. KF, you still have not done anything other than claim that some court has rewritten a constitution, somewhere, sometime. Do you have a specific example or not? If not…”THE END IS NIGH” will be your epitaph.

That I refuse to acknowledge signs of civilization disintegration in progress, when I have not observed any, and even after you have refused to provide any examples after being repeatedly asked, definitely speaks volumes. I worked in a sewage treatment plant for ten years, so there is no need to mention the volumes I am speaking of.

I'm surprised BA and KF haven't banned Hazel and BB yet, considering how the latter two pants the former two on a daily basis.

Maybe they dimly perceive that they're down to almost no one left to chat with?

BS77 explains that QM is way better than QFT.

It's been 14 years since my last QM class, which is better than the ∞ years since BS77 had one, but if you'd like to go set him straight, please do.

BB, you can shut your eyes and stop your ears all you want, the demonic chaos is blatantly on a ruinous march of folly. The very redefinition of law discussed in the OP that opens the door to will to power nihilism is a direct proof, one that is enabling not only the worst holocaust in history (a million more victims per week, Hitler would blush) but the progressive ruin of the foundations of stable society. And don’t get me started on the culpable failures and guilty secrets of too many academics, pundits, professionals and educators before the duties of truth, right reason, prudence and much more. KF

PS: We are warned about benumbing and en-darkenment:
Quote

Eph 4:17 Now this I say and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds. 18 They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart. 19 They have become callous and have given themselves up to sensuality, greedy to practice every kind of impurity. 20 But that is not the way you learned Christ!

You'd have to be nuts to think these philosophy-minded scientists are really creationists!

It looks like BB was paraphrasing  a former Prime Minister of Canada. When asked about the government's plan to decriminalize homosexual acts, Pierre Elliot Trudeau said "There’s no place for the state in the bedrooms of the nation".

Mullins would have an aneurism if he knew that.

Ah yes, the TimeCube format. Always the sign of unadulterated genius at work.

Speaking of TimeCube, the last time I visited Gene's site was when it came up in discussion (here I believe) because it looked like someone managed to inject some script that was bouncing visitors to spam pages for a while. Turns out Gene Ray died back in 2015. Total bummer.

It's a shame the original domain wasn't salvaged as it's now owned by an online gambling joint or affiliate or whatever. However, the internet being the internet, not only is it archived on the Wayback someone has graciously hosted a faithful copy at ti.mecu.be

Batshit should be so lucky.

DS, have you met demons in action? I have, including demonic levitation also witnessed by many others. There is more to reality than many imagine or awaken from in their worst nightmares, screaming and sweating. But that is a side-track. The emphasis, is, chaos on the march so we can simply take it as metaphor. KF

Oh yes, the famous "the demons were going to levitate him, but we held him down."

Thanks to ID science, we now know they weren't demons.  They were water molecules.

I was listening to the SGU podcast yesterday (a podcast I find increasingly annoying and boring) and they made the point that you know over the last 15 years the number of people walking around with cameras on their person has gone up by a factor of about a million and yet the photos of UFOs...haven't.

I reckon that if more people have pictures of whatever it was, they have a better chance of identifying it, therefore fewer of the objects remain unidentified?

Yes. Those two, along with a handful of people (e.g. Axel, Asauber) who do nothing but cheer them on from the sidelines, seem to comprise the pro-ID side over there. And of course Denyse, cranking out post after post, but not really engaging in discussions. It seems to me that a number of previously frequent commenters are conspicuous by their absence. A few, just off the top of my head:
Upright Biped
StephenB
Gpuccio
William J Murray
Querius
Bill Cole
Barry seems to have lost interest lately, too. Maybe this time we really are seeing the demise of UD.

I think I saw bill Cole a time or two recently, but yeah, they're running a skeleton crew over there. Dense even said something dumb about if QM is wrong then what good is it? Or something, and I didn't even have the morivation to dunk on her about it. Ed George is critical of KF for being an asshole to BB and Helen. After several consecutive days of obsessing about hot sweaty muscular men getting physical with each other, KF is now babbling about Bortion some more.

How many of  "Levitationist - The End is Neigh" nutters on digital street corners would actually be interested in photographic evidence or the lack thereof when the voices that they hear in their heads are telling them they saw levitation with their own eyes. He probably believes  witches can turn a man into a bird or that ghosts exist. Pretty easy to do after one accepts religious parables and myths as facts.

Back when I was medical school faculty in psychiatry I co-led a "Religion and Psychiatry" seminar.

One main goal was to teach the medical students that being religious was not actually insane.

I would tell each new group, "Believing ghosts are real is not insane. Believing you see ghosts is insane."
