I thought this might be of interest for all you Englanders out there:

Lesson #1:  guten tag gute nacht und gute hyperbole

...Too soon?

We are aware of the Daily Mail. We are aware of Littlejohn. It is a rag for the utterly moronic, he is a moron. Think of him a Britain's answer to Glenn Beck, just without all the hystrionics.

Louis

But.... Wasn't Littlejohn a big help to Robin Hood, when they saved all of Western Civilization from the Wrath Of The Normans?

Different Little John. This one is a swivel eyed bigot, although of course he denies it, and an official poopy pants of the first order.

Oh yes, I said poopy pants. I'm not afraid to go there. Oh yeah. I went there.*

Louis

*Wait...this very silly colloquialism made it sound like I have been to Richard Littlejohn's poopy pants. I wish to deny this completely and utterly. This is a vile slur on my character. It is untrue and libellous. My wife is standing by me during this difficult time.

Piffle. Next thing you know he will be telling us that Richard the Lionhearted wasn't a hunchback and didn't die at Bosworth!

And his real name was Brian.

There are several things which no one expects. Some of them are distinctly interrogative and Hispanic.

Oh indeed. Some of which, I am lead to believe, involve intimidation to the point of causing foreboding in the victims.

Foreboding and, dare I say a certain sense of amazement.

Foreboding, amazement and a rather keen sense of loyalty to the Pontiff.

I shall re-enter the narrative at a more apropos moment.

Foreboding, amazement and loyalty to the Pontiff are the chief weapons of the Hispanic Inquisition.

England are stuck with Ambition, Distraction, Uglification, and Derision.

Man, am I glad that I got out of Brazil a few weeks ago. I imagine that entire country is not going to be doing anything but discussing that game for a few months. Well, that and devising new and fiendish ways to torture and/or eliminate Dunga...

The Uruguay - Ghana match had an unbelievable drama at the end of the additional time.

Ghana had a real chance to score at the last, 120th minute.  Uruguay managed to repulse the attack, at the cost of a red card and a penalty kick, which Ghana missed.  Uruguay won the shootout.  Ghana dominated the overtime and should have won.  Too bad.

Interesting strategy, taking a red card rather than allowing a goal. The goal was certain. Penalty kicks score 84 percent of the time.

The guy who stopped the goal won against the odds and won the game for his team.

I'm sure you meant this, but that was the only play.  Certain defeat avoided for a chance at almost certain defeat.

You may have decided it was time for a change but I loved that cute avatar you used before.

Yeah, and barely made it in.  Possibly it might've without the change in direction.

Most importantly, though, Melo screened his goal keeper from the ball, preventing him from knocking or punching it away.  My guess is that the goal keeper won't be buying Melo beer anytime soon.
