BA77, language, please refrain from vulgarities. Also, while “insanity” as a one time reference in context is at least understandable, regular resort becomes inappropriate and invites a reaction rather than a response. Please use different language going forward. KF

The vulgarity of ba77's that kf censored was "batshit crazy insane." I find that a bit ironic and amusing.

I was amused by how KF gave him the mildest of criticism, and Batshit gets his delicate feelings hurt and starts pouting.

But what about red herrings? Where do they come from?

They rise from the ashes of burning strawmen.

A few quotes:

Hillary Clinton is Wrong: OBGYN Says Abortion is Never Necessary to Save the Life of the Mother – MICAIAH BILGER OCT 24, 2016
Dr. Lawrence Koning, an OB-GYN in Corona, California, said Clinton also is wrong about late-term abortions being necessary to save a woman’s life or health, according to Christian News Network....

And then et shows up and compares abortion and global warming, because also complete idiot.  :D  :p  :)

Someone should tell that to the families of Valentina Milluzzo and Savita Halappanavar, to mention two from recent memory.

Unless, of course, by "never necessary" they mean they have no problem with women slowly dying in agonizing pain from sepsis because all they have to do is accept Jesus and live forever and ever after in the afterlife. In that case, never mind.

Edit: I guess I have to take this one back, about those particular women, because on the re-read I see that they meant specifically late term procedures. It's a little difficult to find search results concerning late term because nearly all the results are from anti-abortion site articles about women who have died under the procedure.

In recent days, here at UD, we are seeing dismissiveness towards demonstrative warrant and the standard that to answer a demonstration you need a counter demonstration.

It looks like Mullings as a new buzz phrase. It’s not as catchy as some of his other cliches, but it has the benefit of only having been used a couple hundred times.

I'm deeply connected to Google, because I use my Unique Google ID to log into everything, and I'm lightly connected to Facebook and Twitter, and so I'm sure I get targeted ads all over the web, but I never get religious ads anywhere else. When I go to uncommon descent 9 out of 10 ads are for some kind of wacko, usually fundamentalist, Christian stuff. So no, those ads are targeted at UD visitors.

There was a clip going round twitter a few days ago of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez  commenting that algorithms were racist (because the inputs were racist. The stats community on twitter all nodded in gentle agreement). It appears that algorithms have now raised themselves to the point of trolling UD. They'll be burning churches & setting the eboia virus free next.

How can you possibly say that UD is a religious site. It is not like they ever have religious OPs.

I got a great deal of amusement out of some right-wing nutjob who said aoc's comments about algorithms were stupid because "algorithms are based on MATH." :p and that guy got ratioed to hell and back.

Speaking of our old friend bornagain, can anybody make any sense of this?

Mathematical intuition is utterly mysterious. So for that matter is the fact that mathematical objects such as a Lie Group or a differentiable manifold have the power to interact with elementary particles or accelerating forces.

I have no idea what he's talking about, but I'm pretty sure no mathematical operation is accelerating anything.

By the way, the above is written in msg. 9 in the Science Fiction Writer Vox Day On The “Darkstream Descent” Of Darwin’s Theory Of Evolution thread.

Yes, evolution has hit a new low.  "Science fiction author" and all around asshole Vox Day has come out against evolution.  It's all over now but the shouting.  Evolution is dead. After all, Vox is at least as smart and knowledgeable as Trump.

Soon we will witness the Second Coming of William Dempski.  Evilution will fall before Him and the faithful will be lifted up to heaven where they will be greeted by Saint BA77 who will have a sheaf of messages for them to read, complete with links to videos.  All the smarty pants who relied on "education" and "facts" will fall before the mighty power of the ID paradigm.  Vox has spoken and he favors ID!

Does anybody have that picture of Vox with a sword and a flame?  It was posted here a few years ago.

Oh I don't know, a few mathematical conjectures have been accelerated out of windows by proofs.

One thing I keep on wondering - why would anyone believe any mathematics that comes from Lie algebra?

Harry, Christians will not save civilisation. In God’s grace, there may be an awakening at the brink in time to turn back, but awakenings generally are in the context of an ongoing reformation. The West is seeing apostasy not reformation. I suspect some very hard knocks lie ahead.

More cutting edge science at UD.
