Anyone up for it. We can see the exhibit and then grab some bevvies and a ruby*

It'll be better that the AtBC Seattle / AMWAY get together.

I am up for it, but this is the middle of baseball season, and my son's travel team takes a lot of time.  When we're not playing, we're practicing, so Aug or so would be better for me, but I have to up for meeting a guy with a Tard on his cap.

Good idea.

Come on people!  What an opportunity- Me & Richard and Chuckie too!  I am sure FTK will stop off on her way to the Flintstone Museum, so things could be real interesting.

Hell, MN is only a 6 hour drive, so anyone that would go all the way to the Galapagos could just shimmy their way here in a matter of minutes.

And we don't even shoot strangers, like they do in TX.  Of course, you don't want to be caught wearing the "wrong colors" here.  Sign up now, while there is still time, and room on the bus.

All right, all right already! :D I'm going to see if I can go in August. I really, really want to see this exhibition and to meet up with you all!

But neither John nor I drive, so it would probably be the train - because I'm saving up for another trip in September (hmm-mm! not telling). :)

WRT "colors,"  I suppose I could buy a Peyton Manning jersey for the festivites.

fusilier - Only if that Payton Manning Jersey is in Bear Colors...

OBTW:  In Chicago, the only correct spelling of Payton is as above, and the number on the jersey has to be 34.

September is full of Weddings, I have a stag weekend in August and I'm speaking for PwC and plan on mooching a weekend off them at the resort, so I'm 50/50 for most weekends.

I am English but I live in Chicago, which is a great place to live because it's not in Texas. I can walk to the field museum - I live in a loft downtown.

You can walk to the Field Museum?  Why didn't I know this?  When I missed the METRA last time at 2 am, I should have at least hassled you.  Way better than waiting for the 4:50 to the south side.

Given that it's held on a weekend, and with enough notice, and failure of all the gods [read: managers at work; atheist or not, I have to believe in those guys] to conspire against me, I could likely make it as well.
Would very much enjoy another trip to the Field, and the Darwin exhibit is a great motivator.
Not that an ATBC gathering wouldn't have its own compelling aspects ;-)

hugs,

Mercy...I’m in.

[thinking...]

On second thought, I should probably stay as far away from Richardhughes as humanly possible...though maybe he’s as “ugly as a mud fence”.  In that case, maybe I can make it.  God knows I need a vacation...

Richard? Are you there?

The gauntlet has been thrown down. All you need to do is to prove you're better looking than Dave Scot.

Can we send you in, big guy?  :p

Hey all,

Saw J-dog's mention of the trip over at Aetiology.  I live not too far from Chicago, and I'll be there Aug 2-5 to talk science blogging at YearlyKos...can someone keep me updated about what you decide?  I've been wanting to go see the exhibit anyway...

Well, I'd like to come, but I'm sort of stuck.

Y'see, JanieBelle, Kate and I are stuck at the mailbox.  We've been waiting for a special package, an autographed picture of someone...

To tell the truth, we can't even remember who, because we've been waiting so long in the wind and rain...

Seems like it was someone important...  definitely female.  I think she mentioned having the picture ready to go, in her glove box, and ...

Is it Christmas yet?  I'm sure it was supposed to be here by Christmas... or JanieBelle's birthday...  hm... is it Valentine's Day yet?  JanieBelle's birthday is Valentine's Day.

Anyways, we can't come.  We're still huddled around the mailbox.

:)
