So here are the predictions:

Even more bible qoutes
Even less science
More opinion polls
More 'moral impact of darwinism'
An eventual falling out because Denyse keeps pluging her book.

hmm, yeah, that sounds about right.

I give O'leary until Dembski manages to regain his popularity with the creationist powers that be (or gets a grant from Ahmanson directly).  He's just using her to try and get a larger audience.  once accomplished, he'll find a reason to boot her and take over his own blog again.

I'm thinking Dembski is taking lessons from Coulter, ever since she asked him for input on her book.

Follow the money is as good a predictor for Dembski's behavior as any.

Awright, Davison has finally popped up on JanieBelle's blog! :D

Check here:

And, of course, he IMMEDIATELY tears into Dave.

I hate to disappoint the church burnin' ebola boys but I won't be commenting on UD in the future. I just told the smarmy Canadian cross dresser to go fuck itself in an email. It would have banned me in any case as it's nowhere near as cool as Bill Dembski. The stick up its disgusting ass could make a redwood feel inadequate. I'm going to go ahead and forgive Bill for this monumental brainfart as he's going through some long term bad shit on the homefront with a sick child. I felt bad about bailing out on him at a time like this but he forced my hand. No big deal. I had a few extra hours today to finish rebuilding the carbs on my jetboat (it's back together and running great) and throw a ball in the water for my puppy. He's napping at my feet on the houseboat at the moment. I think we'll go out for a swim and then take the jetboat for a longer validation run.

P.S. if my dog was as ugly as the Canadian cross dresser I'd shave his ass and teach him to walk backwards.

HAHAHA - I kill me sometimes!

I think this is Dave's equivalent of Nixon's "You won't have Dick Nixon to kick around anymore" speech.

If Dembski's sick child is the excuse for his brainfart, I wonder what Dave's excuse for his brainfarts is?

I wonder if Dembski is using medicines developed through research into evolution to cure the alleged sick offsprinng.

Has anyone wondered where Rilke's Granddaughter has got off to?

I know that she's probably doing more important things than commenting about ID now (getting her degree and all), but would she really quit entirely?

This is what I've always thought regarding JanieBelle.  I suspect that RGD could pull it off fairly well, unless she really is too busy to toy with the likes of DaveTard.

If JanieBelle really isn't a real person, I have to say that not only has she pulled off a great hoax, but the patience she has shown is astounding.

I think the news about the family would be easy to fake, and obviously the lesbian love scenes would be fun to write. But quoteing Shakespeare with Blipey seems to show a bit of research for someone just playing a 17 year old girl. On top of that, sitting through my attempts at describing some evidence for evolution would require some real restraint from someone who knows all about it.

Looking at her comments on UD also look like a real person, not someone acting. Had I been acting, the jig would have been up long ago. If she's not real close to who she says that she is, then I'll be the first to admit that I've been had.

Edit: Maybe I need to be more skeptical...

I don't see why not.  Because as a certain retired engineer in LA with no life, too much time on his hands, wacky theories about the real explanation behind meteor showers, and more alter egos than David Bowie will tell you,

Exactly. A couple months ago I made a post about how ID is antiknowledge -- not merely the lack of knowledge ('ignorance' ), but the actual opposite of knowledge. Sort of a black hole from which light can't escape.

no no, Davetard was the lesson in negative science.  Dave often interjected his "qualified" scientific opinion on things, wrong as it was 99.99% of the time.

Densey will simply ignore all science and attempt to redirect issues into the moral arena instead.

think along the lines of the whole stem cell debacle.  that kind of thing is where she excels.  She won't focus on the scientific merits of stem cell research, only the moral implications in her mind.

yes, you will actually see LESS science discussed on UD.

that IS one thing that folks will miss round these parts - Davetard's wacky sciency notions will no longer be seen.

the remaining crew at UD seem to be completely ignorant of science altogether, which is exactly the audience WD40 wants to lubricate.

Maybe he's trying to think up some way of banning Davetard. He knows Davetard will try to sneak back in and make nasty comments. Dembski picked a real loser to run UD, but look who he's surrounded by. He's surrounded by morons and sycophants.

Maybe not. DT openly loathes Denyse, but seems to want to stay on Dembski's good side. I think WD is DT's only ticket back to any kind of position of 'authority'. Otherwise, DT is doomed to become yet another antievolution internet comedian like Larry Fafarman and John Davison.

I think it might just be that Dembski wants the furor over DT's sour grapes departure to die down before he allows posts again. This is of course to keep up appearances, which, of course, is all that ID is about.

Yeah, but he's probably got an Elmer Gantry stylee faith healer working on it too.

Don't you all know that there's a rising chorus of medical professionals who disagree with the methodological naturalism rife within evidence-based medical community and that we must be careful to teach the controversy?

Of all the monumentally stupid things Larry F has said, for some reason, that one's always given me the worst, most blinding headache.

I mean, think about what Thorazine Larry is trying to say:

"Sure, people successfully use evolution theory to correctly make predictions. Sure, evolution theory has provided us with a paradigm that has worked far better than any other for 150 years. Sure, all the new discoveries just keep validating the existing paradigm...

but that's no reason you have to think it's true!!!"

Just for the record, as the lone lesbian voice in the wilderness...

If Ms. O'Leary were to approach our side, we would most definitely throw her back into the water.

Please do not tar us with this poor imitation of a journalist -- aside from her complete lack of scientific knowledge, most of us possess a better fashion sense than getting a hair cut (and color) that makes us look like the leprechaun on the "Lucky Charms" cereal box.

To be honest, she's not remotely as ugly as that pic makes her look. Here's a reasonable picture of her

The earlier one,

suffers for all kinds of amateur reasons. Strong light is in her eye, making her squint and giving a harsh glare and washout to her cheeks. Her awful haircut amps up the slight masculinity to her features, and that ridiculous collar gives a young boy vibe. And her smile looks forced and she needs some plucking on those eyebrows.

I've always leaned toward the "she's acting" camp.  I wouldn't be completely shocked if she really were a 17 year old girl, but I just don't know.  I did ask her a while back, but got no real answer, so I let it be.

If it is an act, I agree with BR, bravo.  It's really well done and really of no consequence either way.  In fact, if it is an act, I feel I need to apologize for being a part of the early "outing".  She was obviously doing a good enough job to ruffle the feathers of the IDiots in a new and enlightening way.  Perhaps we put a crimp in that?

So, it really doesn't matter to me, as long as she still stirs the ID pot a little (by keeping her science thread going--at least a bit), I think it's a nice place to have a little cake (UD baiting) and discuss a little theatre...not too many places to do both.  Besides, if any of the IDiots aren't convinced one way or the other, the style of her blog can only help.

Above comments predicated on only the assumption that Janie is acting.

I don't want to be insulting, but I don't even think it's very good acting. JanieBelle is obviously a middle-aged guy acting like a 17-yro bisexual girl. I just wish whoever was doing it would email me and let me know, so I can share in the joke.

It's the patience issue again.  Or, I suppose, we just don't know what "Janie" gets out of it--that could be enlightening.

While I agree, it's probably an act, my lingering doubt is--unfortunately--based on an argument from incredulity.  What possible aim could you have that you would do this (in as much detail as has been done--good or bad doesn't matter, just the fact that it was done) for so long?

Off the top of my head I can think of:
1. You have copious amounts of freetime to waste
2. It's some sort of challenge to see exactly how gullible everyone is
3. You're bedridden and don't have Netflix
4. You really, really hate DaveTard (my leading candidate)
5. You're deranged in some, probably none-dangerous way
6. I'm out...got no more

It's not the acting per se, but the dedication to it that is fascinating to me.  It seems a lot of effort for no readily apparent goal.  This is why I wouldn't fall over dead if it turned out to be true, but I agree, steve.  The topics and comments in her blog read like a movie script...they all tie nicely together and create a precise picture...a managed picture.  I'd be almost as interested in knowing what the goal was as to whom it might be.

Hey, trust me, I've thought up much more elaborate pranks for Davetard. ;-) The reasons you mention are good pause for thought, but I think someone was trying to play Davetard, and got interrupted by his abrupt sacking.

I just wish whoever was behind it would let me in on the joke.

Anyway, it's all jokes at this point, Intelligent Design is so fucked there's little to do but laugh about it.

I think you're unfairly understating the potency of Fafafafafafafa's argument here.  Larry didn't merely say that, he said it over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again, which as you know vastly inflates the convincitizational power of any specious argument.  What keeps me awake at night is the possibility that he will discover the tactic of typing in all caps, which would make the argument so unbelievably powerful that, hey, I think he just convinced me in advance!

Steve S., where'd you get that hot picture of Denyse?  I'm thinking of starting a "Women of ID" calendar and that's a cover shot if I've ever seen one.

Also, can somebody give me the address of Faffferrrmann's blog?  I've lost it and Google doesn't seem to have ever heard of it.
