Get a grip. Ive got lots of Obama supporting, Christian, moral friends, who care as much about life as you do. Thats like saying all Republicans are pro-death because they dont support gun control laws.

At the end of the day, we all want to see ID get a fair hearing. We want to see the scientific mainstream wrestling with the scientific challenges of ID. So whats going to make that happen? Is it going to be the endorsement of politicians like Bush and Palin who they have already dismissed as uninformed, religious fundamentalists. I really doubt it.

I think instead of demonizing one side of the polital spectrum, we need to be engaging with those who feel threatened by the ID camps apparent religious and political affiliations. Engaging only with the right, is pretty much preaching to the converted.

That guy is toast.

Hi Scooter (Dave Scot Springer) . How do you like the new presidential race polls, what with the economic problems and all?
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn....pf.html

-- Obama now leads McCain by 52 percent to 43 percent

-- Fully 50 percent called the economy and jobs the single most important issue that will determine their vote, up from 37 percent two weeks ago.

-- Much of the movement has come among college-educated whites. Whites without college degrees favor McCain by 17 points, while those with college degrees support Obama by 9 points.

Sure, you get to pretend that you're some tinhorn Rush Limbaugh -- but you and Rush only have a few things in common:  an inordinate fondness for processed cheese foods, an painful over-estimation of your own mental abilities and a penchant for lying.

The economic chickens are coming home to roost and they're shitting all over your face, Scooter. Enjoy the flavor for the moment and pray for change, "agnostic" that believes in God.

I set them up, baby, you knock them down.

We're here all week!

I heard a piece about David "Gitwizard" Blaine's recent stunt involving hanging upside down over an ice rink (or some such drivel) where he was seen taking breaks for such trivia as food, water, standing upright and medical checks. Ha ha! The comment was "He keeps doing all these death defying stunts and surviving. I wish he'd stop".

I have never been so proud to be British as when Blaine pulled some shit over here in a glass box hanging above the Thames and some genius bought a remote controlled helicopter and used it to fly burgers around him. It was a work of the highest human wonderfulness.

Marcus Brigstocke (British comedian, youtube the fucker) did a brilliant bit on him. I maintain to this day the fucker stole it from me. There are only two problems with that hypothesis: 1) I've never met him, 2) he's a lot funnier than I am.

He probably believes in it based off of what he learned in colleges which is close to nothing in reality. If you show one side of a story that supports and idea, of course its going to support that idea. Evolutionists like to ignore all the experimental data and just say, Mutations can do this and that and Natural Selection will do this, and then ta-da! Evolution! Go go education text-books!

Are you referring to this Biden quote:

Quote

"Part of what being a leader does is to instill confidence is to demonstrate what he or she knows what they are talking about and to communicating to people ... this is how we can fix this," Biden said. "When the stock market crashed, Franklin Roosevelt got on the television and didn't just talk about the princes of greed. He said, 'look, here's what happened.'"

Found it here.  A lot of commenters on that thread, who clearly don't get out much, are not happy with Dave equating ID with right-wing politics.

Then there's PannenbergOmega:

Senators Obama and Biden are probably not friends of ID. In fact, I think I even remember Biden defending Science during the Democratic primary television debates.

Defending science?  The scoundrel!

I think it was pretty clear from the link that Bill was referring to BarryA.

Doesn't change the fact that the BarryA quote was mined and  truncated to emphasize an inconsequential error. In the context of the BarryA comment, "invented" means available for use by Roosevelt to address the public. And, of course, Roosevelt wasn't president when the market crashed.

Why is this kind of quote mining illicit when creationists use it, but defended here? I guess one man's potatoe is another man's potahtoe.

Not an unreasonable point. Of course, BarryA was doing same vis Biden.

*EDIT*

My iPod spazzed out and had me post before I was finished. :P Talk about fun.

What I meant to say WAS: I dont know enough about Global Warming to debate with people about it, but I honestly think its a joke. Besides, even if it were to be real, I dont know that I could do anything well, Im sure I could help out the masses who think they can. But whos to say they can effectively do anything anyway? I figure Im probably gonna die one way or another, global warming or not.

Ive heard of a similar statistic from my former co-worker who said his class did a study and found out that whats going on now on Earth has been happening for millions of years. Life is still on earth too Im not sure Global Warming is so deadly even if we grant that it is happening.

Ask yourself: how did the full comment add anything at all to the four words of the first?

Broadcast television didnt exist in 1929, dummy, and Hoover was president. Fail.

So, let me gets this straight:

2) BarmyA extemporizes, fails to get his facts right (and fails to note all of Biden's errors), and is therefore...
