Try glaring at Wesley. That seems to work.

I guess I don't see the point in an E/C (or, charitably, an E/ID) blog if you're not even going to at least pretend that science and research is important.

Of course you don't get it, you know something about science. What makes FtK types so mind blowing and funny is that they don't understand why doing research is important to a scientific revolution.

Actually, Wes already spoke to me about it. I'm willing to be patient; I was just upset I had to make two posts there.

FTK is on record (several times) as saying that she doesn't see the point in Intelligent Design advocates publishing in scientific journals.

From her latest entry, a pithy reminder why it is useless to discuss science with folks like FtK.

Not bloody likely.  That tattoo requires honor and integrity to earn, neither of which has any relationship to you.

I don't, now that you mention it.

It's from long ago and far away, back in my young and dumb days when jumping out of a perfectly good airplane seemed like a good idea.

from my favorite piece of work ever:

Quote
To be, or not to be: that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
And by opposing end them? To die: to sleep;
No more; and by a sleep to say we end
The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks
That flesh is heir to, 'tis a consummation
Devoutly to be wish'd. To die, to sleep;
To sleep: perchance to dream: ay, there's the rub;
For in that sleep of death what dreams may come
When we have shuffled off this mortal coil,
Must give us pause: there's the respect
That makes calamity of so long life;
For who would bear the whips and scorns of time,
The oppressor's wrong, the proud man's contumely,
The pangs of despised love, the law's delay,
The insolence of office and the spurns
That patient merit of the unworthy takes,
When he himself might his quietus make
With a bare bodkin? who would fardels bear,
To grunt and sweat under a weary life,
But that the dread of something after death,
The undiscover'd country from whose bourn
No traveller returns, puzzles the will
And makes us rather bear those ills we have
Than fly to others that we know not of?
Thus conscience does make cowards of us all;
And thus the native hue of resolution
Is sicklied o'er with the pale cast of thought,
And enterprises of great pith and moment
With this regard their currents turn awry,
And lose the name of action. - Soft you now!
The fair Ophelia! Nymph, in thy orisons
Be all my sins remember'd.

Skipping over the general dishonesty and blatant, flat-out slander and defamation (how's that apology/retraction coming, btw?), passing right past the deliberate spread of ignorance with malice aforethought, and side-stepping entirely the theocratic tendencies, the tactic of character assassination of a person's family members because you can't deal with that person like an honest adult speaks for itself.

I've read enough of PZ and Skatje to know that there is absolutely no chance of someone like me *ever* convincing them to take a second look at their particular faith and/or philosophical beliefs.

I'm sure you misspoke, here, Ftk.  Surely you meant, "at MY particular faith..."

Of course, you will never be convinced that anything in the world can be taken on anything but faith, so maybe I'm wrong.

Is it faith that makes me think the sky is blue?  Why or why not?

Is it faith that makes me think that the Chaldeans were a real kingdom?  Why or why not?

Is it faith that makes me believe the Earth is a sphere?  Why or why not?

Is it faith that makes me believe that the ToE is the best explanation for the proliferation of life on Earth?  Why or why not?

Don't bother answering.  That would make you seem like a reasonable human being and I'd hate to saddle you with that.

Nope. That's just policy that you are fully aware of.  In fact, you could clear up that whole thing all by your pathetic lonesome.

All you need to do is retract something you said earlier.

OR!  And this is where rational people differ from the scum you normally hang out with:

You could PROVIDE EVIDENCE that your previous statement is true.  At that point, we would all go, "Ah shit!  Ftk's right."

Then you could post on your own thread again.  It's really very simple and not in any way arduous.  Most people would choose to do one or the other.

You, on the other hand, are insane.

Right, FTK, because a discussion on what its okay to have sex with has *nothing* to do with Morals.

Unnecessary.

The documentation

is easily found.

I'd provide a link to the original post at YoungCosmos, but (not so) strangely, the post has gone missing.  Fortunately for you and Slimy Sal, it's preserved in its entirety at UDoJ at the first link above.

For my part, given that FTK, Wally & Sal are such ardent religion advocates, their morals make me very pessimistic when considering what our future looks like with religion.

Is FruiTcaKe back? Is she slandering and pissing about with logically fallacious irrelevancies again? Crikey! Has it dawned on her yet just what the argumentum ad hominem is and why it's so utterly irrelevant to the facts?

P.S. Don't worry Lou, we all think you look....erm....."great" in that dress. Mind you, given the fact that you undoubtedly do in fact look better in that dress than I would, I shouldn't really take the piss too much now should I? Prop forward + dress = bad.

Hey, I made that dress look good.
