I wonder how much of Joe's problem is that he's dumb and how much is that he has a hard time learning anything because even the most benign correction is met with white hot rage. |
A big part of it is education. He lacks basic math skills, doesn't understand geometry, trig, or probability, and it's hard to think about science very effectively if your math skills are below average. And evolution is fundamentally about changes in gene frequencies in populations, so trying to understand that when you don't understand Probability 101 must be next to impossible. He doesn't understand basic chemistry or basic physics (The CO2 molecules have to be lined up in the same direction!) and is hostile to basic findings in several sciences, so the result is hopeless.
He's got the perfect brain for UD though.
