Logically differently gifted Denyse found fresh evidence that we are no stinkin' apes!
The background:
Closer scrutiny of museum specimens' morphology showed that there is a species decidedly distinct from the olingos it was formerly confused with, the olinguitos. To double-check scientists compared their DNA and found they share only 90%.
And then the article Denyse links to made a big mistake: They mention the smaller difference of 99% [I think depending on what you compare it might be only 98% ??? - Katt.] between humans and chimps. Denyse's hackles are raised:
