How many transitional fossils would it take to convince me that humans and monkeys share a common ancestor. I said it depends on your quantitative estimate of the amount of changes. He then rebuked me by saying that that was IMPOSSIBLE to provide. He continued by saying that life exists on a spectrum and that we can not quantify a spectrum and you can not quantify the changes. I asked him how he uses fossils as evidence for evolution if there is no estimate. He said fossils do not matter to evolution. Is he correct that life is a spectrum? and If he is correct does that mean that genetics is also un-quantifiable…and if it’s all un-quantifiable then how can we measure complex specified information and use it as evidence for Design? It seems like ID does fall apart if this is correct. Can someone help! |
