Creationists believe, or at least will say, anything that preserves the illusion.
Anyone who thinks Exodus happened has to have a special capacity for interpretation. In this case, absence of evidence is indeed evidence of absence.
Not to mention that you have to be comfortable with God's chosen people taking forty years to complete a three week journey.
Gordon probably believes Moses wrote Deuteronomy too.
