After all the fuss about information in junk DNA Jonathan Wells now claims that there is even more information Not in the Genes.
One just wonders how he can accept that morphognesis is influenced by environmental factors like electric fields while he would deny that such factors could influence the outcome of mutations.
Must be some mesmerizing designer transcending information into the developing embryo following the the right hand rule.

Jonathan MacLatchie picks up and defends Jonathan Wells' conclusions:

Apart from the numerous other problems that plague current understandings of the origin of new genes and protein folds by mutation and selection, if indeed it is the case that higher-level organization is determined independently of the nucleotide sequence, then it appears even more doubtful that mutating DNA alone can be causally sufficient to explain the origin of new body plans.

The failure to explain the origin of animal body plans is a fundamental shortcoming of Darwinian theory, and this problem must be explained by any candidate paradigm that purports to provide a basis for understanding life's origins and evolution.

Commenter Eric Anderson is even worse:

Let’s be very clear, folks. We are barely scratching the surface on both the amount and kind of programming required for life. Anyone who thinks this stuff just happens, or is a natural outgrowth of physical and chemical laws, or isn’t really that detailed and complicated, or doesn’t require massive amounts of sophisticated programming, or we know pretty much what DNA does and everything else is junk, has no idea what they are talking about.

Some remaining questions:
Who programmed the electric fields in the developing face of the frog?
Where was the information stored before it was copied into the face of the developing frog?
Is there still information in the adult face? If so, is it the same as in the developing face?
Is the information transferred to the next generation? If so, how?

Where does the information electric signals encode in the brains of IDiots come from? Wait..., I forgot that they don't need material structures to develop crazy ideas.

--------------
"[...] the type of information we find in living systems is beyond the creative means of purely material processes [...] Who or what is such an ultimate source of information? [...] from a theistic perspective, such an information source would presumably have to be God."
