The ordinary use of the word "information" goes hand-in-hand with meaning.
Textbooks= information= meaning
dictionaries= information= meaning
technical manuals= information= meaning
computer programs= information= meaning |
Joe,
Go and read Shannon's paper. Find out what he actually wrote. His measure of information is not a "special case" of information. It is a quantitative measure of it.
So that you could understand it. Mass is not a special case of Joe Gallien. It is a quantity characterizing one aspect of Joe Gallien. |
