There is no rule against doing stupid things, Joe. However, anyone remotely familiar with chemistry understands that a mole and a molecule are related, yet quite distinct terms. Abbreviating a molecule to a mole would lead to confusion. So no one does that.
You can prove me wrong, of course, by providing a counter example.
