You don't read so good do you FTK?
I'll bullet the key points for you:
1) Like I said: I am HAPPY (read: overjoyed, casting off clothes and skipping nude down the street happy) to be shown to be wrong about your abilities to have a rational discussion. The only person who can prove my initial assessment of your abilities in that direction wrong is YOU. I can't prove me wrong about it now can I?
2) Your habit of concern trolling (plus a couple of other habits) is what makes me think you cannot actually do rational discussion. I could count the science-related replies I've had from you on one hand, and I spent WEEKS after your arrival here politlely asking you to discuss the science, any aspect of it you wanted. I even created a thread about a scientific matter of interest to me with the secondary purpose of involving you. I got one post then silence. The promised questions never came. I get a lot of whining from you if I dare to criticise you in any way however or say anything you think is mean. Concern troll much?
3) Why on earth you expect me (or anyone) to sugarcoat things for you FTK is beyond me. You frequently bash atheists as if we were some homogenous group. You frequently misrepresent what atheism is. You frequently accuse the scientific community as a whole of bias/prejudice/persecuting religion/being all closet atheists (or philosophical materialists)/conspiring to hide the truth. You frequently make whacky prounouncements about the impending doom of evolutionary biology and yet seem curiously incapable of supplying any scientific rational for this oft feted Waterloo. What on earth makes you think you are tactful and respectful? Crikey FTK this aspect of your posting comes straight from the playbook of class A loon. Why do you expect to be taken seriously or treated better than you treat others if this is how you are going to play?
4) It really, REALLY, REEEEEEEEAAAAALLLY is not about disagreement. I LIKE disagreement. I HATE poor argumentations and intellectual dishonesty and vacuity. Disagreement gives me two opportunities I relish: a) a chance at a decent discussion, and b) a chance to learn something I didn't know before and thus potentially correct any errors I have made. I disagree with people all the time and strangely it very rarely gets unpleasant. The reason for this is the people I disagree with usually are intelligent, honest and capable. A decent fraction of the time the people I disagree with show me to be in error, which I simply admit to, thank them for and move on. Even those people who I disagree with on something fundamental like the existance of a deity (I say there is no evidence supporting that hypothesis, they say various things!) we can amicably agree to disagree (and do so). In fact with several of my friends it's something of a joke. We rag each other over our different ideas about deities. What I DON'T like are liars, loons, and little minded whiners, and FTK, like it or not, you do a stunning impression of all three on occasion.
5) Try to get it through your skull that disagreement =/=hostility. Try also to fit in there that unsympathetic criticism of your actions =/= hostility, and whilst we're at it try to think that abuse etc can sometimes = frustration and not hostility. Perhaps if you possessed a modicum of the humility you christian chappies supposedly have you'd understand that sometimes, just sometimes, the signs of frustration from other posters you recieve for some of your posts is a signal that YOU are doing something stupid. This won't be the case all the time, but it is the case most of the time here at AtBC. Deal.
