“Officer” turns on light
Something has been bugging me for a whole week.
I retold a happening in my life that was unusual, to
someone on the golf course, mentioning that, since I
had not made a note of it at the time it happened, I
needed to do so now. I didn't.
Later, I asked the person I told it to, but he couldn't
recall either.
Today, 5/6/08 I glanced at a headline in the paper:
"Officer to learn if he can keep job"
It threw a switch.
Two or three years ago, my wife and I had a long conversation
about someone who, for years, claimed to be a veteran but wasn't.
The next morning, an article in the same paper, Florida Today,
said a man was being charged for impersonating a retired
officer of a branch of the service.
