I want to disprove scientists so bad I can almost taste it. I have researched many a scientific debate and discovered the unholy background to fake science is usually money and an agenda. Darwinism is promoted by corporatism. We need to feel empty enough to become good consumers and poor stewards. We were granted dominion over Earth and we can only justify the rape that is agribusiness and the loss of soul that is consumer credit by shutting down our moral sense. We can only do that by pushing God out of our lives. It is critically important that faith be taught to all our children if we are to have a just and sustainable world.

That said, I expected to find some consumer lobby or atheist labor union behind the verbal attacks on the scientist. Enough digging reveals a different picture though. The oil companies are in fact paying this guy. Link

Issues like this are tricky to unravel because big business is so good at pulling the strings. You never know when you are being lied to. The links from my link all checked out for me. If you find something fishy from one of them (and relevant to whether the guy is a shill for big energy) I’d like to see it. I don’t know enough of the science to have an opinion on the global warming front like I do on the evolution front but it looks like the only scientists out there that deny the science are paid by big energy. Wierd.

SOmewhere in the mess is a liberal conspiracy. If Al Gore the untrustworthy backs global warming, we have to assume foul play somewhere but this guy lost every shred of credibility with the statement:

In another instance, I was accused by Canadian environmentalist David Suzuki of being paid by oil companies. That is a lie. Apparently he thinks if the fossil fuel companies pay you have an agenda. So if Greenpeace, Sierra Club or governments pay there is no agenda and only truth and enlightenment?

Dissecting that statement, he first lies by denying the charge, then justifies himself for doing what he claims not to be doing then brings up an unrelated and, in fact, irrelevant point about greenpeace and the sierra club who do not fund any substantial portion of the prevailing climate science.

What is sad is that science has left a bad taste in our mouths through the intentional destruction of faith in God that once we are exposed to a potentially religion-hostile bit of science we reflexively fight back.

I know next to nothing about this issue scientifically but this source has no credibility whatsoever.

EDIT** I don't have the link from Doug's post above. Sorry.

What's there now:

Doug’s comment was deleted as it was entirely baseless.
