LOLOLOLOL   Notta ... why don't you be scientific about your speculations and come visit my church?  You could talk to my wife, my Pastor, my business associates, etc., then make your "professional appraisal".  Lemme know.

Dave, it's been my experience that when a man, especially one who prides himself on his outward control, is undergoing some sort of mental distress, his male friends (i.e., your pastor) and business associates are the last to know. A wife is usually the first one aware of such distress, but frequently has a hard time convincing others of it. Many men would rather die than admit they're experiencing a mental illness.

Newsweek has a cover story on men and depression this week. In it, it states "Often the person who seeks treatment isn't the depressed man, but his fed-up wife."

Frequently, wives are more sensitive to their husband's emotional state than their male friends are. My husband's pastor denied my husband was depressed even after he visited him in the hospital after a suicide attempt, solely based on the fact that they told each other a few jokes.

I doubt visiting you at church would tell me anyhthing about your emotional state. But your repeated threats to call people names, your pleas to start up again at AtBC (why? what do you want to accomplish??), and your constant attempts to control what others say at "your" threads over at Dawkins.net all point to a man who is losing control. I'm not saying you're depressed, but your posts show a man who is desperate for attention and who threatens those who disagree or disparage him. Hardly the behavior of a mature, well-balanced man.

Talk to your wife. Show her the threads. Then listen to her advice.
