I don't think so. Joseph has some anger issues, and tendency to fall back on elementary school taunts, that Daniel doesn't seem to exhibit. The whole "atheists have just as much faith in their deity as I do in mine" is one of the final steps in the apologetics process when all previous attempts have failed.
Of course, the "atheists deity" varies on a case by case basis. In this case it is natural selection.It is usually Charles Darwin, but it could be "chance" or "materialism" or whatever. The next step will be some variant of the "No True Scotsman" argument, which the Lou's have correctly surmised.
