I spent the day getting my daughter registered for college and straightening out her high school schedule.
She's dual enrollment, and the contrast for how things are handled is stark. The high school counselors seem to come from a position of trying to catch her in a mistake and she's a pain in the ass for asking them to fix their mistake, while the college counselors seem to want to help her get whatever she needs to be successful.
We're looking forward to exchanging assistance in classes. I'm taking Spanish for the first time, and she's had several years of it. It'll be an interesting role reversal when I come to her and say, "Kay, I don't get this."
Next semester, we're looking to scheduling a class or two together.
