And, as expected, Pavlov Joe responds:

Holy Shit, Kevin- CO2 Absorption Wavelengths

But my question stands. What frequency? And, what frequency on Venus?

CO2 absorbs light in hundreds of frequencies, but they are generally grouped into bands around 2.7, 4.3, and 15 μm. Because the atmosphere of Venus is so thick, the bands are broader than on Earth.

That suddenly thousands of parts/molecules start working in concert for a purpose like we see in the cell ?

To believe in resurrected Jesus requires less faith . Imagine that.

Yawn.

UD’s Unintelligently Designed recent comments section usually only malfunctions for several hours during the day, I thought, but it hasn’t updated now for 24 hours. Or is it always like that on the weekends?

It definitely takes more faith to believe in a naturalistic abiogenesis than any known religion requires. It also takes more faith to believe in a naturalistic universal common descent than any known religion requires.

It takes far less faith to believe that physics and chemistry are the best explanation and to conduct research accordingly than it does to believe in an all-knowing, all-powerful being who nobody has seen, who’s capabilities and limitations are unknown, who’s mechanisms for creation are unknown (and unpostulated),  who existed before the universe existed, who’s existence and mechanisms of action have never been observed and are untestable, and who created the universe specifically for the purpose of a species of animal that has only existed for  about 0.002% of the age of the universe.

True. But I will bet that if this supreme being exists, he isn’t stupid enough to claim that frequency = wavelength. 😊 he leaves that level of stupidity to his creations.

The way bio-craplexity found to double this year’s “papers” is too pathetic to even discuss.  :p

Perhaps cosmologists should consult the pool of mathematicians and theoretical physicists here at UD for advice on how to improve their inadequate models. I’m sure any help with such intractable problems would be greatly appreciated.

If you wanna get technical, there actually is more to it. When momentum is nonzero, the full equation is

E² = (pc)² + (mc²)²

Is that same as dividing mc**2 by sqrt( 1 - (v/c)**2 ) ?

Yes because 1/sqrt(1-(v/c)^2)= γ, and so you can just say E= γmc^2. You know, if you’re into the whole brevity thing.  :p

Barry Arrington pops out from his coffin to argue against something he calls "Critical Law Theory". As if complaining about the fundamentalist Catholic bias of the Supreme Court had any legitimacy.

Isn’t this the same idiot who went to court to prevent a gay valedictorian from giving his speech?

Barry, and every other idiot on UD (KF, BA77, Jerry, Joke), is against anything they consider “progressive”. Maybe someone should point out to them that things like abolition, the five day work week, Medicare, stat holidays, maternity leave, the ban on child labour, safety in the work place, not being able to hit your wife, water treatment, wastewater treatment, the right of women to vote, the right of blacks to vote, the right of indigenous people to vote, the right of Asian Americans to vote, etc. etc., were the result of “progressive” ideas.

UD’s dog’s response in 5, 4, 3..,

It's like what Douglas Adams said about technology:
Quote
   1. Anything that is in the world when you’re born is normal and ordinary and is just a natural part of the way the world works.

   2. Anything that’s invented between when you’re fifteen and thirty-five is new and exciting and revolutionary and you can probably get a career in it.

   3. Anything invented after you’re thirty-five is against the natural order of things.

And I’m sure that Barry and his merry band of morons is perfectly fine with the 12 week maternity leave given to women in the US, as compared to the twelve or more months offered to women in the more “progressive” countries. But I am sure that Joe’s response would be that women shouldn’t get pregnant if they can’t afford it.

Yes, seriously Chuck. People who engage in the false equivalence fallacy tend to do so in multiple contexts. It is a nasty habit.

Isn't saying that asking Barry to calm down, get a grip, or similar is equivalent to (probably) being a pinko commie sympathiser from the 80s also an example of asserting a false equivalence?  If so, Barry may be on to something with that last point.

Folks,

passing by, working my way through a sudden onset life crisis. Have to be low profile for a time, I’ve been hit hard.

I note, some time ago I pointed to self-evident first duties of reason, starting with truth, right reason, prudence [including warrant]. This is where we go when power centres disregard such. Cicero got it right.

Next, IVM, Bob, is far more than horse parasite treatments, AS IS ABSOLUTELY READILY AND INDISPUTABLY ASCERTAINABLE.

Start with, Nobel Prize largely for taming river blindness, in HUMANS, and with a stellar safety profile across 3.7 billion doses. The atrocity tale and lies about hospitals filled with fools in the Bible Belt chowing down on horse size doses are ludicrous, Goebbels level psyop games designed to taint and stigmatise with what is tantamount to blood libel.

Those who pushed this have for cause NEGATIVE credibility.

Default, if they say X the real issue should be which form of not-X is true. Educated people willing to ride on it are enablers of dirty agit prop and owe a bigtime apology at outset.

Next, there is adequate, abundant and decisive evidence on dose-response concommitant variation for individuals, study frames and populations. At doses in range to 0.2 to 0.4 milligrams per kilo body weight; long established safe levels. Comparable to prior uses since the late 80’s. If you want to push the WHO-CDC etc line, I point to a point by point correction here, which shows that we clearly have regulatory capture and utter dishonesty driving inexcusable bias and academic/pro hit jobs.

All with the taint of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ driving it.

Up to and including the locking in of big ticket placebo studies as a gold standard used to selectively brush aside clearly adequate but inconvenient warrant.

And now that Pfizer’s CEO is promoting his shiny new pill for treatment, which had to be under development all along, we hear how pills plus vaxxes are likely the ticket. The evidence is, IVM was there better part of a year ago and should have been acknowledged.

I am sick to my stomach.

Also now that documentation of gain of function research offshoring is in documents dug out, we need to ponder false in material part, plausibly false in all.

Dr Fauci et al, I am looking at you.

KF

that’s because river blindness is caused by worms, you complete fucking moron. It’s a dewormer. And everybody knows it's not just for horses, it deworms people too. The problem is people are taking horse versions and then calling poison control.
