Sayings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him):
“None of you will truly believe until you love for your brother what you love for yourself”.
(narrated by Bukhari). Nawawi the famous of the 13th century says that brother here means brother in humanity.
God loves kindness when you deal with any
matter” (narrated by Bukhari and Muslim)
“You will not enter Paradise until you have faith
and you will not have faith until you love one
another. Do you want me to tell you
something you can do to make you love one
another? Make it a habit to greet one another
with “Asalamu Alaykum” - peace upon you”.
(narrated by Muslim)
“Give gifts to each other, as this will make you
love one another.” (narrated by Muslim)
“Where are those who love each other for the sake of My glory? Today I will shelter them with My shade, as there is no shade today except My shade”.” (narrated by Muslim) (with reference to the Day of Judgement.
“God Almighty said: “My servant draws near to Me with nothing more loved by Me than the acts of worship that I have enjoined upon him. My servant continues to try to draw near to Me with more devotion, until I love him. When I love him, I will be his hearing with which he hears, his sight by which he sees, his hand with which he strikes, his feet on which he walks. When he asks Me for something, I will respond and when he takes refuge in Me, I will grant it to him. I do not hesitate in doing anything I intend to do as much as I hesitate in seizing the soul of My faithful servant; he hates death and I hate hurting him. But death is a must for him”.”
(narrated by Bukhari)

Imagine, quoting the Prophet Mohammed at UD!  What next?  Somebody quoting Hitl....

Oh, never mind.  RB, you'll be wanted over at the bannination thread shortly.

Thank you for stopping Allen’s posts. I always found his presumption that he knew more about evolution than us just because he is a biology professor annoying.

It’s a common misconception that Allen MacNeill is a professor. He has no PhD. He is listed as an academic staff member at Cornell. He has taught an introductory course in biology at Cornell for 30 years but his credentials stop at a BS in biology and MS in science education.

http://vivo.cornell.edu/all/en.....rtal=65535

For a long time I was also under the impression that Allen was a professor so I understand your mistake. Many people here at UD, out of respect (myself included) addressed Allen as Dr. MacNeill and Professor MacNeill. Allen never corrected any of us so it appears he’s complicit via a “lie of omission”. I never made an issue out of it before this comment but I felt it was now past time to set the record straight.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lie

Lying by omission
Lying by omission is when an important fact is omitted, deliberately leaving another person with a misconception. This includes failures to correct pre-existing misconceptions. One may by careful speaking contrive to give correct but only partial answers to questions, thus never actually lying.

DaveT: "Mein Kampf isn’t even legal to buy, sell, or own in many European countries because of its contents and here’s Allen MacNeill trying to blame the holocaust on the bible."

I could be wrong, but Mein Kampf is illegal only in Germany and Austria, with some restrictions in France (you can only sell the version with commentaries from historians). Netherlands has some issues with copyrights and selling, but owning the book is not illegal. The vast majority of European countries allow the selling, buying and owning of Mein Kampf.

I was taught to write primarily by women, and I still write like a guy according to the gender genie. There's some really intricate commentary on the ways people use language in this, but I'm not gonna make it. Mostly, I think Granny Spice just confuses the genie because her writing is very, very far outside of the sample the genie was calibrated for.

D'Tard is even more pointless.  Mein Kampf was published in 1925.  The Wikipedia has an entry on Mein Kampf, which included a section of availability.

Maybe someone that is still able to post at UD could remind DaveTard that Mein Kampf was not exactly illegal in Europe up until @ 1945... @ the early part of May I think.  Prior to that I think it was not openly accepted but recommened reading from the French Chanel coast east to almost Moscow.

Gee Dave, please remember that those that do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

DaveScot: The best example of failure to meet an environmental challenge is the {malaria} parasite’s inability to survive outside a tropical climate.

Malaria was historically endemic to marshlands in England, even during the Little Ice Age. The last I checked, England is not in the tropics.

Nor is Russia (Moscow, winter low -20°C or lower) or Korea (Seoul, winter low -10°C or lower). Here's a newspaper article of a malaria outbreak in {Petrograd} Russia (winter low -10°C or lower) in 1921. And another news article on a recent outbreak in North Korea.

DaveScot, we covered this months ago. Malarial parasites and their mosquito vectors feed on people, for God's sake.

{Added Petrograd above for clarity per Bob O'H's following comment}

That's correct, though the 1921 newspaper report from Petrograd article refers to ten million throughout Russia.

While the article I had associated with Moscow states, "In 1946-1948 there were 1500-2000 cases of malaria per 10,000 of the population in the territories of the former USSR, including the Moscow region."

(I thought I might have had some troubles with clarity. Apparently so.)

Finland owned St. Petersburg? I say, that claim is factually incorrect. We did own Viipuri (Viaborg), which is located between Helsinki and St. Petersburg, but then we eated it.
