Good rebuttal to kf. Right through his finalist ainimus. It's all conspiracy!

Gone off the deep end? The only shallow end that he has seen is the gene pool. The only one more stupid than him is that moronic ET who has his nose buried so far up KF’s butt that he smells fresh fruit.

True, but I think he's found a deeper part of the deep end in recent months.  If creationism isn't allowed in science class, there'll be nuclear war.  And it'll all be jkrebs' fault.

See it really is a conspiracy.

Even Joe says so.

Collectively, these results identify teleological thinking as a new predictor of conspiracism, independent of agency perception, anthropomorphism, science rejection, analytical thinking and randomness perception.

So for Joe his belief in an imaginary deity is all that's needed for it to be a conspiracy. Or is that just simple paranoia?

I hope kf posts a map with arrows all over it again.

In the paper that started this off, the authors state (I've removed the statistics):
Quote
We called the first factor ‘animism’, as it clusters measures involving attribution of consciousness and agency to nonliving entities. The second factor, ‘finalism’, tapped instead into the attribution of purpose and final causes to the universe and human life. ... Finalism was the main predictor for creationism, followed at a smaller degree by animism, whereas rejection of science and animism were the main predictors for conspiracism, jointly with finalism to a slightly lesser extent.

So are the guys at UD indulging in (1) attribution of purpose and final causes to the universe, (2) attribution of consciousness and agency to nonliving entities, or (3) rejection of science? It seems mainly 1 and 3: I don't think there's a lot of animist thinking.

I think they could have been more specific on what they meant by non living.

If you asked kf if god was non living he would open a blog post and shout for days. But if you asked if god was an actual live mamal resident on earth he would refer you to some reprint of second century Christian propaganda and that he has been wailing all his life for a repeat show.

In either case the only difference is the difference in blood temperature between outer space and the surface of the earth. The blood of course would have to have a freezing point below absolute zero and a boiling point above 100 degrees Celsius. That rules out everything on the periodic table.

So my take on it is that along with voodoo chicken sacrifices, doomsday maps and babbling in voices kf would be an animist.

Proof would be if he believes in self levitation while performing an exorcism.

At a wild guess yes. But since we're talking about the possible existence of actual living breathing mythical deities and potential candidates for their blood what's the freezing point of Kryptonite?

Forming a deity doesn't require boiling H2O and trigycerids at about 220°C?

Jesus, that's a tough one! I guess if HE'S travelling on an extended round trip of the universe at the speed of light before HIS eventual return maybe he stashed his blood before he left?
In the old days they could have just used blood from all the Ox sacrifices.

I want to know why we in Australia and our vowelly-challenged cousins across the Tasman Sea in Nw Zlund don't rate a choke point, or at least a red or yellow arrow.

We have Bass Strait! We have Cunningham's Gap! We have the little-known but appalling Bungle-Bungles, drop-bears and hoop snakes! Almost every native organism in these parts seeks to kill you, except possibly the kiwi.

We have the Big Banana, the Big Pineapple and the Big Lawn Mower! We have The Rotorua hot pools and the world's only known wooden Parliament House! And most of all, we have Tony Abbott, Footrot Flats and the Bledisloe Cup!

How much choking can two countries endure before the Sage of Monsarrat grants us at least a red dot.

Inquiring minds in the Antipodes wish to know.

Since UD tries to focus on science from time to time, let’s look at what type of scientific evidence supports the Christian’s claim that morality is objectively real.
