Ziggy has posted her last comment. I guess suggesting that God might lie was too much for Barry and Mullings to take.

???

Banned again. My sock drawer is running low. Pushing Mullings buttons is just way too much fun. The only thing that surprises me is how long she lasted.

I think following him to that Montserrat paper got you banned.  That's Mafioso style stalking in his book.  Poor man is probably looking over his shoulder for armed paperboy-torpedos coming to finish him off right now.

You apparently have not spent any time with tribes in the bush. If you had (and I have) you would know your statement is blithering to the point of idiocy. Embarrassing really.

Bill Nye huckstering thread

P.S. It has just occurred to me that he may be referring to Uncommon Descent.

I wonder if he was on a MISSION FROM GOD?

I'd love to have seen the SAVAGES' faces when a breathless, flabby ginger with the pallor of a neutron star came bursting through the undergrowth carrying their salvation in book form.

As he should.

I actually feel sorry for him. He is so obviously an extreme paranoid that he is incapable of enjoying life. But he is also such a pompous, arrogant, condescending little man, that he makes it hard to care.

this is not a discussion board for politics, for the most part, and I don't want this to turn into heated abortion discussion, but the "You don't really believe it's mass murder because you're not acting like you would act if it were." line is an attack that I don't really believe there is a good defense for.

for the last 10 mins, I can't get to UD. It's almost certainly a brief glitch. But it's scary nonetheless...what if UD isn't pulling in the cheddar like Barry wants, and he pulls the plug?

UD has been an entertaining tardfest for 25% of my life. It would be sad to see it go. Even if the glory days are long gone, and Barry and Gordon would need promotions to reach the level of idiot.

Andre and those others who think abortion is mass murder. What are you doing about it? You think a few comments on a blog is a suitable response to mass murder? You are like the people in Nazi Germany who stood by complicitly while millions died. If you really believed it was mass murder you should be engaged in a overthrowing the government. You should be in jail for life for your actions in physically opposing this mass murder of innocents. At the least you would move to a country where abortion was illegal. So either you are a coward. Or you don’t really believe it’s mass murder.

WJM and those who believe in objective moral truths. Please list 10. All you ever mention is child torture or some variation on that. Put up. What are you guys scared of?

Mysterious New Commenter at UD  (who deserves an award for that first comment alone)

Does anyone know what happened to zeroseven? He posted s couple scathing comments and then disappeared. Not that that is an uncommon phenomenon at UD.

Re #730:

I didn’t argue that no rights were taken away. I was arguing that after allowing SSM it’s not that a small minority ended up with special rights. That’s what Owens argued and what is not true. If you disagree, name that right and which minority ended up with it.

Cue the music. I expect the same dance as with Brent.

HR, you are progressively speaking in disregard of truth. You made assertions which were fairly insubstantial. I took them up point by point, taking them apart and showing want of foundation. You falsely claimed unresponsiveness on my part and have proceeded to drum away at setting up the rhetorical base for future unresponsiveness. That speaks revealing volumes on your actual intent. You are clearly here as an activist pushing talking points, not for serious sober discussion. Which explains much of what has happened above. Enabling behaviour for the march of folly is duly noted. Sev, as far as I can see 07 has not indulged trollishness sufficient for banning for cause. I have certainly not asked him to leave this thread. He has simply decided to walk away after receiving two answers to what he thought was an unanswerable rhetorical demand. And you full well know that those who are banned at UD are banned for insistently abusive trollish behaviour, which includes cyberstalking. KF

By trolling behaviour he means disagreeing with Gordon Mullings (dba KairosFocus) and presenting a better argument.

There's a lot of that going around these days. Now that Corny Hunter started a fuss about Dr. Swamidass' writings on evolution and V.J.Torley's defense of Swamidass at least 10 pro-science posts have vanished from Hunter's blog.

They are fierce warriors, fighting mightily, tirelessly, like the noble Allies of yore, bearing the weight of the civilized world on their stout shoulders,  to defend the whole of western civilization from all urgent grave threats, be they alien jihadists, or insidious cabals of traitorous Liberals madly setting fires to the strawmen of relativism, so long as they aren't mildly criticized.

Stealing someone's money apparently does no harm if it goes unnoticed.

The morality these idiots espouse is incoherent, not objective.

Oh, even better -- it's objectively incoherent.
Not that those morons have any business playing around with sharp-edged and many-angled concepts like 'objective'.

Inquisitor, As I responded to at 870, you have left a monstrous insinuation that principled objection to homosexualisation of marriage is comparable to the sort of barbarous aggressive war and murderous sacrifice of the captured that happened in the Aztec kingdom. You cannot reasonably walk away from that without resolving it. As thread owner, I ask you to face it, deal with it and come to some civil conclusion before moving ahead. This is a reasonably civil forum for serious discussion, and you have crossed a very serous line. You need to walk it back, now. KF

If the Mesoamerican morals were so wrong, and those of other cultures throughout history that we disagree with, how do you know that your morals are the correct ones? Is it not more likely that humans in 500 years will look back at your morals (eg. homosexuality and SSM are immoral) and think that those were absurd and nihilistic?

Gordon's reply, in essence, was "because I said so."
