Has someone mentioned the, IIRC, humiliation if the Explanatory Filter, followed by the Deng Xiaoping-like rehabilitaion of the EF, followed by a deafening silence on the EF? (Caveat: I am out of date on my U-D-ology.)

Trumped!
*shakes fist*

Don't forget Davetard's "You're right Bill, the EF is rubbish"
followed by "You're right Bill, it's the best thing since sliced bread!"

Sweet--'cause your comment on Telic Thoughts gave me the idea! That'll learn you about the importance of temporal ordering when it comes to comments!

Can anyone suggest/provide a better timeline graphic for the Dust-up at UD corral item?

Can you be a bit more specific?

Oooooooh, that dust-up.

I posted this here on that merry night:

but it might be a bit subtle, given the rather small space provided by the timeline.

I'll see what I can do.

No LOLcats.

I was looking for some sort of graphic to imply disemvowelation, & that was the best I could find, having few Photoshop skilz. On 2nd thoughts, maybe it's not so bad; it is the undue vertical space it is taking up that is driving me mad - I have cropped and re-cropped the image and checked the canvas size. I'll try removing and re-posting the whole thing. (Text formatting there is a bitch, too).

Love your examples - laughed out loud when I spotted DT.

Just out of curiosity, why do old UD threads look like this on my browser?

How about Dave's campaign to promote and possibly test on himself (or was it his dog?) that fad cancer cure.  What was the abbreviation for that stuff?  (I want to say DMCA, but I know what that is)

Dave's fear of clown visitation is also a must.

Also, I know it's probably not right for this timeline (not specifically UD and too spread out in time), but the proto-ID citations Didymos has been relaying over on the UD thread would be perfect in that format.

That looks like somebody copy/pasted from a site that uses one character set into a post on a site that uses a different character set.

This may be vintage WaD. In my opinion, it is close between the EF resurrection and street theatre . Each has that finely tuned admixture of |unjustifiable arrogance>, |notpology>, and the |absence of an actual sense of humor> that is the WaD wavefunction.

Other examples simply show the collapse to one eigenstatelike the Brites were all |absence of an actual sense of humor> and the Baylor Board of Regents was a pure state of |unjustifiable arrogance>.

Oh, yeah, the 2006 incident where a cracker took UD off Google and the Internet Archive, and Springer blamed me for it.

Then there was the "you can't serve what we've deleted" affair. My server box with my email from 1991 to around July 2009 is down, but when I start getting paid again and manage to claw my way out from under the debt load, I'll see about finding the email from Barry Arrington threatening a lawsuit if I didn't take BUUD down.

All I am getting is something about Louis' history at the dockyards and something about ports and and a mouth...

A search there for "creationist" returns no hits.

I don't know, it looks to have been deleted, at least as far as public access is concerned. But I haven't spent long on finding it.
