Sure, Dennis. And the Soviet Union will bury the west.

Take your meds.

Oh, and aren't you still on probation?

Knowing how way leads on to way, I bumped into this, which may be good for a chuckle or two.

GLOBAL FLOOD ASTRONOMICAL DATE RANGE

Quote (TARDBuckets at Conservative News and Views @ Aug. 05 2013,00:00)
Walt Brown, nearly three months ago, announced an astronomical fix for the Global Flood. When he did that, he provoked the precise sort of debate scientists ought to have. Brown, with his customary boldness, challenged anyone who doubted him: “Check my math!” Dr. Matthew Jachimstahl, a skeptic (both of the Hydroplate Theory and of the Bible), accepted Brown’s challenge. Brown recently released the full results of that challenge.

That's wonderful stuff, Lou.  Two, count'em, two comets had perihelia at more or less the same time five thousand years ago.  Therefore Teh Flud.  That'll teach us to laugh at FTK.

I was a little disturbed to find this though (third paragraph, point 2):

You lucky things. I'm back among the living after 4 hours of having my inner fish reconstructed. This time it's certainly designed.

The surgeon said my insides were a mess, and he had to call in a consultant to figure out why all the pieces were in the wrong place.

Glad to hear you're still with us.

Did you get some RAM installed while you were at it?

Perhaps, midwifetoad, you should have called a vet, or a herpetologist, rather than a surgeon.

And if so, did the surgeon use Gary's diagram?

Let me guess, your inner shark allowed an escape?  Sucks.  Hope you're feeling better.

In other news, those of you living under a rock may not have heard, but PZ appears to have seriously put is foot in his mouth and it now kicking his own ass.  A few days ago, he basically accused Michael Shermer of rape and then he goes and posts the letter from the Shermer's lawyer on hos blog.

I consider it a defect in my character that I will enjoy watching his own quest for internet glory exploded around him... however it turns out.

I seem to have an extra potato in my pocket. I've been through this before, and the same thing thing happened. If history serves, it goes away over a couple months.

Unlike Gary.

Makes sitting down no fun.

What a bucket of snakes. Is there any place to get the story of what PZ said and the background of what Shermer allegedly did, with all the hysteria?

I'm sorry, the the posters to all the discussions are too busy trying to hack each other to bits to deal with mundane things like facts.

Huh. That is a conundrum.

Well, one could, I suppose, actually read what Myers posted.

Also: Greta Christina wrote a blog post whose content is directly relevant to the question of how credible the accusations aimed at Shermer may be or not-be.

Odd that the documents seem to come and go. I'm guessing now that it's in Shermer's court to do some explaining.

Monday Mirth - LinkedIn just recommended to me that I connect to Wm A Dembski!

The good Dr Dr has a pretty sparse profile. No Education listing his doctorates all 10 of them (in binary). No Experience listing his time at Baylor, Southwestern Theological Seminary, or Big Bubba's Bible College. No awards. No publication list.

His only experience is "Senior Fellow, Discovery Institute" and the industry he is associated with is think tanks.

I have one connection on LinkedIn to the Isaac Newton of Information Theory, but I'm not sure who it is.

(ps - LinkedIn has also recently offered me Babara Forrest, Jeffrey Bada, and David Deamer as possible connections. I would be honored to connect with any of them. Dembski, not so much. I'm job hunting right now, and I don't want to hurt my chances.)

When I think of the DI, I think septic tank rather than think thank.  But then I think a good septic tank keeps the shit in rather than trying to fling it everywhere.
