Yup, it was alcohol making him an ignorant dumbshit.

At least alcohol gave him an excuse, however poor it may have been.

It's worth noting that I was a horrible, atrocity-committin' sinner before I found God, but I've been a rilly great guy since He saved me from my (former) evil ways is a very standard trope in Xtian proselytization. It's also worth noting that in many cases, the proselytizer who's using that trope falls into at least one of the following categories:

• A life-long Xtian who never had a period in their life when they were God-free
• Someone whose previous life was never marked by any such sins as their proselytization presents them as being guilty of.

Dionisio is having a delightful inferiority complex rant at UD. From comment 180 to comment 205 he compares the number of OPs at UD and TSZ that include words like ribosome, chromosome and tRNA in the title.

Why ID is better than TSZ

Apparently there is some concern that TSZ is taking some of the intelligent discussion away from UD.

Did I just say "intelligent discussion" and "UD" in the same sentence. If my mother were alive, she would was my mouth out with soap.

Just for giggles, read Barry Arrington's post here, then click through to the Slate article he references and read the headline.

Laugh? I almost wet myself. Wouldn't surprise me if BA pulled his own post.

To be fair, in the video the narrator does say "million" (albeit not as clearly as one might hope). Mind you, the text that appears at the same time says 10,000,000,000.

I'm beginning to understand why Barry closed his law office and took a job with another firm.  Just too good at math, I guess.  Pity, the world lost a great bill collector.

His new firm.   Google lists his old one as permanently closed.

The website is still up, but it's pretty generic. No examples of clients, no names of staff, only sweeping statements about how they can do...stuff...for, you know, all sorts of folks!

AtBC seems to have had problems over Christmas, so here's a late Christmas present, courtesy of kf:

JAD, sensitive dependence, thus likely strange attractors and aperiodic infinitely variable pseudo-cycles, perhaps superposed at differing scales. With driving forces such as the annual solar orbit. Then ponder solar stellar variability and the long term precession of earth’s rotational axis etc. KF

I just wish someone had sent me an "aperiodic infinitely variable pseudo-cycle" for Christmas.

What the fuck is wrong with Dionisio? He continues to post comment after comment on a two year old thread. He is responsible for 1,000 of the 2404 comments on that threat. Most of his comments occur without any other persons' comment between them.

Impressive work, BA77. Thank you.

Indeed!

P.S. My daughter and son have school assignments in Darwinian evolution in January, one in a public high school and the other in a Christian middle school. I will print this article and BA77’s excellent comments and will draw from them as I help them do these assignments.

Thanks, DfO

Based on the fact that this thread started back in December 2013 one has to conclude that the TARD flow decreased significantly over the years. However, the by boiling down the very same arguments again and again the TARD cooks over at UD made sure that TARD viscosity reached unprecedented heights. Thus, visiting Atbc is still worthwhile.
Happy new year.
