Yes, I think so too. But I could never work out which religion they were trying to be a mask for.

I've come to the conclusion that theology is not ET's (aka Joe's) strong point. See here, starting at about 79.

He's called more people "asshole" more often than anyone ever.  He's really, really good at it.

What keeps open for me the possibility that Joe's a Poe is that he's so terrible at everything he does online. His 5.6ºF Steak Fail is so bad even a lot of creationists wouldn't have made that mistake.

Ooh, that one sounds good, but I missed it.  Could someone post a link or description?

The competition is stiff, but this JoeG quote is still my favorite:
Quote
LKN= Largest Known Number

It was my impression that there was a computer keeping track of such a thing. Perhaps not.

I also love the fact that Joe spends a significant portion of his life posting on a thread entitled "JoeG's Tardgasm".

It appears that Mullings has diverted a discussion about the existance of god and evil to same sex marriage and the lying broken backed at the foot of a cliff. I guess it was only a matter of time.
Quote
PS: RJS, since you insist on using a loaded example to try to pretend that “slippery slopes” don’t exist and pointing to such is inevitably fallacious — BTW, after the history of WW1 then the rise of Bolshevism and that of the 3rd Reich and WW2 I don’t know how such can be said with a straight face by any reasonably historically informed person! — not all that is under colour of law is lawful. For cause, despite a crooked yardstick imposition, there is and can be no same sex “marriage.” Marriage, being rooted in naturally evident creation order, is simply not something we can redefine at pleasure. What we face is an utterly ill-advised imposition under false colour of law, part of the ongoing disintegration of a civilisation insistently in rebellion against all that is good and sound. I draw the attention of those willing to set aside crooked yardsticks, here. I fear, we will only wake up to our folly as a civilisation when we lie broken-backed at the foot of a cliff.

I love conservatives.

1: Everybody in the world disagrees with them.

2: Therefore the only possible conclusion is that everybody else is wrong.

3:  Given 1 and 2, therefore Jesus.

JoeG might add,

4:  Given 1-3, therefore you're an asshole.

Heh, over on gpuccio’s Transcription regulation thread Bill Cole has apparently come up with an alternative to Pastafarianism:

Quote

This is not the design argument. The design argument states that the only known source of sustainable amounts of functional information is conscious intelligence. We know this mechanism works so we infer it as the cause of genetic information. Couscous intelligent beings are capable of designing functional sequences.

Apostasy! We objectively know that spaghetti is Good, and so all other major sources of carbs are Evil. The fact that you compare couscous intelligence to His Noodly Appendage proves this.

But there are several different sects of pastafarianism. There is the Tomato sect (sometimes referred to as Heinz Pastafarians) that believes it is a sin to eat meat on Fridays. And the Meat sect that formed in the cattle states. And finally, the Bolognese sect, which developed out of the French reformation movement.
