News in the school shooting thread referenced earlier:
Quote
17 News February 16, 2018 at 10:37 am

Canadian commentator Mark Steyn puts the technology in perspective:

Gun-control advocates often say that, well, the Second Amendment was passed in the age of muskets, before all these big, scary-looking semi-automatics came along. In fact, there’s a mere quarter-century between the death of the last Founding Father (Madison, in 1836) and the invention of the first continuous rapid-fire gun (the Gatling, in 1861). It’s a 19th-century technology, like almost everything else other than the computer. But not until the late 20th and early 21st centuries did schoolboys think to use that 19th-century technology to slaughter their classmates.

The Second Amendment was adopted on December 15, 1791.  The first Gatling gun was invented in 1861.  Somehow, this seventy year difference becomes only twenty five ID years.

Therefore, News is in her twenties.  Also, Jesus.

Perhaps it has something to do with Canada being closer to the North Pole and thus rotating more slowly.

19th-century nylon wasn't that good, though.  And the nuclear weapons of the 1800s couldn't blow up an entire city.  Of course the TVs relieved some of the boredom, only they were non-visual.

But they heard about the workings of satellites and fiber optics on their radios.  And the tanks that won the Crimean War.  Their maglev trains were fine, but they only went 45 miles per hour.  The Wright brothers happily flew off of aircraft carriers in 1873, realizing that the carriers would be nothing until planes were invented.  And they sure were happy to get rid of 19th-century fluorescent lights in favor of LED lights, along with other transistors--near the beginning of the 20th century.

Dense just can't let go of the century that spawned a major mind like herself.

Someone ask Densey if she can carry a Gatling gun into a school.  Perhaps under her coat.

Alright Molson, let’s take our grievance to Mr. Arrington and see what happens.
I will forward the discussion to him.

See the comment in the Jonathan McLatchie vs. Keith Fox thread for context.

He's got a history of threatening it, doing it, and bleating about it (at length) in the comments.

Rod @ 16.

Your request demonstrates that one of two things is true:

1. You are a hopeless idiot and cannot understand the point of the story.

2. You do understand the point of the story and are continuing your distraction antics.

Either way, responding to you would be counterproductive.

If you decide you have something to add to the discussion, please feel free to jump back in. Otherwise, move along while the grownups talk.

“There are reasonable sounding opposites for nearly all of these arguments.

Example? God could be perfectly evil and still allow good. Why? Because, being perfectly evil, it would be necessary for us to know what we were missing when the tortured us for eternity.

That says the opposite is true, in really, yet explains what we experience, “evil”, just as well. This is an example of an easily varied explanation.”

I don’t often agree with an atheist, but you do make a very good point here. I read Dr. Egnor’s piece and it feels more like word games used to support wishful thinking than a well thought out, logical exercise. Because we are God’s creations, we trust him with regard to what is good and what is evil. But that says nothing about the nature of God himself. Is it not possible that we perceive as being all good simply because to think otherwise scares the crap out of us? Although none of us believe that God is actually evil, is there anything that is stopping this from being fact? Being God, can’t he be anything that he wants to be?

And now after all of your attempted distractions and efforts to change the subject, we get to the point of the story (which you knew all along including when you lied and said you did not).

If you lived in a world in which everyone else celebrated The Final Solution, two questions follow:

1. On what ground would you justify the statement “I think it is immoral”?

2. Would you be right and everyone else wrong?

Prediction: Rod will turn tail and run away from these questions. Very few A-Mats have sufficient courage to answer them.

Prediction: if Rod disappears Errbody will know Barry silently banned him, because that's the kind of proven coward Barry is.

bolding mine

And yet, Barry responds. Either
1) Barry truly believes neither characterization applies, so he's just blowing smoke for the hell of it;
or
2) Barry believes in being counter-productive.

Either way, Barry continues to be a generous source of asshattery. To paraphrase the fictional character Col. Nathan R. Jessep: We need him on that wall. We want him on that wall.

Well Molson, since you find my mannerism intolerable, even ’embarrassing’, and cannot help yourself but to repeatedly butt in and try to correct me on my manners, I’ve asked a administrator to adjudicate the matter between us.

Perhaps you will win.

If so, I will gladly leave and/or accept my being banned.

Somewhat OT, and two week old news now, but I don’t think it has been mentioned here yet - Corny Hunter has mothballed his site (at least for the moment). He doesn’t say when - if ever - it will be brought back to life.
I guess it makes one more site where Joe G can’t vent his bluster any more, which might partly explain the recent upsurge in his comments over on the Tardgasm thread.

I think that Barry has given him an ultimatum. Post on Darwin’s God or on Uncommonly Dense. No more of this double posting.

But I must admit, the comment threads on DG was just Joke and Mapou, swearing at anyone smarter than them. Which is pretty much everyone, including my cat.
