This thread is for UD's gibberish, not MC gibberish.

UD is getting boring. Barry is trying to resurrect the infinite number of monkeys with typewriters argument, using only KF and BA77.

4 out of 5 days there's nothing much interesting at UD anymore. The ID scam rang down the curtain and joined the choir invisible. Creationists with two brain cells to rub together split years ago. Now it's half a dozen dionisio types with obvious mental or personality disorders.

It's still good for the occasional laugh. And I kind of want to be there when UD finally turns the lights off.

If they do shut down, AtBC will be the only site that still allows Joe to comment. What will he do with all of his spare time? Swear at the kids playing on his front lawn?

Someone should comment over at UD using Batshitcrazy77's style, cutting and pasting Jokes words from his blog to support their views (including a link).

News: If the Weismann barrier is broken, that’s barbarians at the gates of textbook Darwinism, no? It turns out, all sorts of sources can contribute to inheritance.

1) Darwinism, at its fundamental basis, requires a source of heritable variation and differential reproduction.

2) ID keeps arguing that mutation rates and selection within a population are not sufficient to account for the evolution we see.

3) News keeps pointing out sources of heritable variation that don’t depend on mutations within the population.

Is News a sleeper Darwinist agent? 🙂

@BA77 I’ve read through everything you posted. I do not believe you are carefully reading and understanding the distinctions I am making.

Additionally, I do not think ID cannot be science.

Rather, from my perspective, ID made a good start, with bold claims, and actually established a scientific direction at the beginning. But since then, ID has lost its way and become enamored of creationism vs evolution, apologetics and the culture wars, and lost the actual scientific aspect it originally had. So, ID has failed to follow through, and is riding on the cultural momentum of the original claims without making progress.

If ID had started with conclusions based on consistently observed patterns in the relevant evidence, it would still have that. If it doesn't have it now, then it didn't then, either.

That's my three cents.

Eric is not yet grokking that it has been a scam from the get-go, but he at least deserves some credit for realizing that what they're doing certainly isn't science. Culture war cough Kairosfocus, apologetics, cough BornAgain77. what they're not doing is the one thing that a scientific revolution actually has to do, use the new paradigm to make new discoveries that were previously unavailable. That's the sine qua non of a scientific revolution.

BornAgain77, of course, responds by being condescending, and babbling about Isaac Newton quantum mechanics and the Bible, as per usual. :D

What was that Eric was saying about how ID needs more science less culture war?

Don’t forget abortions. The carnage they brought is greater than all wars ever waged. It even goes against what is supposed to be our main and only goal- survive and reproduce.

And extended altruism is expected in an intelligently designed world.

Just sayin’…

Actually, it's two cats superposed. Of course, if one of the cats is male and the other female, the real Schrodinger question would be "How many kittens?"

Perhaps Schrodinger was a cat hoarder.
