Have any of you noticed the massive amount of nonsense from Barry Arrington lately on "metaphysical naturalism," including a grotesque misreading of Nietzsche and loudly appealing to Barry's own five minutes of fame for his involvement in aftermath of the Columbine shooting?

After sixty posts of bullshit, Reciprocating Bill decides he's had enough and lays it all down.  It's a thing of beauty to be read here.

Barry's been banging the "without the fear of divine punishment, we'd all be psychopaths" drum for years.  I'm willing to accept that it's true for Barry.

"if it wasn't for Jesus I'd be the most horrible human being on the face of the Earth" is self condemnation of course, and weird to admit to, but I don't even think it's true. I don't think that Barry is the scum-sucking piece of shit that he claims to be.

I'm not unilaterally a fan of Penn jillette but I do like Penn jillette's response that "I do the amount of raping that I would like to do, and the amount of murdering I would like to do, which is none."

Later in that thread, Joe provides further support for the contention that any discussion, no matter how stupid, can be made stupider by the addition of Joe.

kf, “retrocausality is implicit in delayed choice etc. ”

You have no clue what you are talking about. The delayed choice is one of at least two lines of evidence that have falsified ‘realism’, the other one being Leggett’s inequality.

Those lines of evidence falsifying ‘realism’ have nothing to do with the present empirical falsification that I laid out for your belief that detection of a quantum process in the past is a ‘natural’ process that is completely free of the Agent Causality of God.

To repeat, I referenced the quantum zeno effect, quantum information theory, and experimental realization of the Maxwell demon thought experiment, respectfully.

As to:

“You are repeating a corrected claim about my worldview.”

And yet if it waddles like a duck, quacks like a duck, looks like a duck,,,

When KF, WJM and BA77 have finished arguing over whether or not matter exists if their is no consciousness is there to observe it, might I suggest they discuss whether or not a tree falling in the forest makes any sound if a person isn’t there to hear it. Or how many angels can dance on the head of a pin. Both would be equally as important and relate to to the ID community.

One of the notorious talking points used by inveterate objectors to design theory, is that it is about stealth creationism. Closely tied, is the suggestion (or, assumption) that the claim that design inference on empirical sign only warrants inference to design as process is a dishonest stalking horse.

I’m not about to try to read and try to make sense of all that, but I think in another thread kf did say that once one infers design, which I gather is what kf’s post is about, then it is reasonable to infer that an intelligent designer exists, or has existed, and that the inference of design is separate from identifying that designer.

Is this an accurate statement?

DaveS: My need for glasses (or eyes, for that matter) is ultimately a matter of psychological structure. My intent would be to better my vision. The structure of my psychology searches through the associated information and represents “how to get better vision” as models predicting methods of acquiring the goal. The process is played out in my physical experience however my psychology dictates. For others it might play out as getting surgery, acupuncture, doing eye exercises, taking supplements and some special diet, praying, meditating, or a combination of those things if they want to accomplish it without going the more common route.

All physical methods are manifestations of psychological processes, which is why people can have enormous variances of methodology to achieve the same results. It’s not the physical process that is essential – which is why we have miraculous, spontaneous cures for some and not others, why placebos work for some and not others, why some methods work for Jim and not Joe.

I don’t need glasses in other experiential states – like, when I’m dreaming, visualizing, or visiting other physically consistent frameworks. There are cases of people that have been completely blind since birth but can see perfectly during NDEs or OOBEs.

H, first I did answer your question (which in light of the toxic atmosphere around to me seems to require significant context), and in so doing I referred to the theme and the opening part of the argument in the OP. KF

OK, I simply gave up after the first 3 or 4 paragraphs. You might wanna go talk to an English major about how punctuation, especially commas, is used in writing by non-illiterate people. You, of course, are an amazing example of the Illiterate. I don’t really care what you think you have to say if you have no means of conveying your ideas. I’ll put your name on my list of “Folks Not To Bother Reading”.
