Dense and Dreary has been posting OPs recently about the genome and that it does not function as a blueprint, or that retroviruses can cause serious damage. She somehow thinks that these things are nails in the Darwinian coffin.

In keeping with UD's fine tradition of cutting edge scientific research ID nutter Granville Sewell offers multiple quotes from an 1888 science textbook to show modern evolutionary theory is all wrong.   :D

Well, the last credible ID book was Paley's Natural Theology in 1802.  So this is pretty cutting-edge.

Having read KF I assumed that Plato’s Repubkic was the peak of ID research.

Are you sure that is a record? Have you been counting?

Yes, it's a record, but the tone arm has reached the parking track at the end of the run-out.

25 years ago, when I was a teenager, a good friend of mine who was a librarian turned me on to the New Yorker. "these guys could write a 5000 word piece about belly button lint and it would be fascinating." About once a year I manage to get completely caught up with the NYer issues. Right now I'm at mid December 2018. 5000 words is a long-ass article. It doesn't surprise me that Batshit77 is hitting three times that. No wonder he's so territorial and insistent that people pretend to read all of his stuff, which I bet virtually no one ever does.

BTW I kind of need a favor that I'm hoping people here can help me out with. I seem to remember that some of the more sophisticated Young Earth Creationists admitted that the scientific evidence says they're wrong, they just believe that their faith outweighs it. Can somebody help me out with who actually said that?

That would be Dr. Todd Wood.  You can read about his views here.

That ranks right up there with Egnor's claim that all murderers are Democrats.

Back in the 1970’s, had this been the law then, and had any of us boys been foolish enough to try to pass ourselves off as girls, this one particular girl would have beat the tar out of us. (Now that I say that, she might have made herself right at home in the boys’ room instead…and if she had claimed to be a boy, nobody would have argued with her.) The rest of the girls would have shamed any such boy into wishing he was dead. Yessirree, times have changed. Today, those girls would need a swift talking to, in order to sensitize them (to boys’ gender issues), but de-sensitize them to having a biological boy in their restroom.

Some days, I just can’t wait to see what progressives will come up with next.

On Barry's transgender pronoun thread.

ETA the Yessirree just makes it perfect, like if Hee Haw had a dive bar.

We are talking about a lawyer who defended a school’s decision not to allow a valedictorian to give the valedictory address simply because he was gay.

But remember, UD is all about the science of intelligent design. It is not a Christian site.

Nope. I think you got my inference. I see guys sitting for hours at the swim-up bar, drinking beer, and never leaving their seats. Nobody's bladder is that big.
