The BIg Picture

Most everyone is asking, "What is life all about?  Is there a God. If Jesus was God,
why did he go to the cross?  If we are made like our creater, do we have infinite
minds, and if so, why.
Does he have plans.  Does he have purpose.  Are there better or worse places
than this little round circle we were born on.  Is life a play or novel written like,
"Once upon a time..." and ending with, "and they all lived happily ever after."
How long is the play and will there be an intermisson between acts?  Who's
the writer, director, music composer, set designer, etc, and does every one that
helps, get mentioned in the credits at the end?
After the good, the bad, the ups and downs, tears of sadness, tears of joy, the
beauty, the ugly, hot and cold, love and hate, most are living with the scars but glad to be alive.
Prepairing a list of questions, if they ever see him, some think they are loaded for bear.  Who, what, where, how, when, and why?

Dan 9:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city
to finish the transgression, and to make an
end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity,
and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and
to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to

If you have decided to compete for the prize, it might be wise to prepair a congratulatory speech to all those who might get there before you. It's called " good sportsmanship" and "losing graciously". IMO, there ought to be special classes in all school levels,from grade school to college, to teach this.
When you've had a long record of success, been given awards,  are worshiped by your admirers,
and have had plenty of time to think about, "What if someone ever beats me?", don't say to the kids
watching, "We really are a better team than them.  They just got lucky."

I was thinking about that one day as I picked up a Reader’s Digest. I clumsily opened the book near the middle and my eyes fell on some lines of humor, which I began to read. A man vacationing, I believe in a national park, went to the public bath to shower. When he tried unsuccessfully to adjust the water temperature, he shouted in disgust, “This water is too cold.” Another grown-up voice hollered, “This water is too hot.” Then, from a third stall, a small voice proclaimed, “This water is just right.”

You are quite right, 1 eye is better then none (assuming you live in an enviroment that is lit!;) and 2 are better then 1 (assuming there is a survival benefit for 2 over 1 and stereo vision is also more usefull).

Is that simple enougth for you?

Tell ya what, your next move should be something like "but what use is half an eye?".

Toilet paper

(Written 2/28/06)

Years ago my wife and I knew a couple who had problems getting along.
The wife mentioned to us a particular habit he had
of complaining that she used too much toilet paper.  They separated shortly there after of course.

Ever since, when Joan brings in a package of it, especially super size, from the grocery, I remind her that we really need to cut back. It's one of our in-house out-house jokes.

Two days ago, while reading the paper she exclaimed!  "Honey, you gotta see this!"
Some man, here in Florida, had killed another during  an argument about toilet paper.

When Joan asked me to jot down a couple of items for a grocery list yesterday, even though I knew we had plenty, I wrote down toilet paper and underlined it.

When she finally saw the list she remarked, " It's ironic that you listed 'toilet paper'.  I was going to add it because I have a coupon for it."

Today I read to her the above.  She answered,
“The store was out of the coupon size so I got a rain check.”

Today, March 2, I noticed that we were almost out of tooth paste so I started another list:

1. tooth paste
2 Don’t for get your rain check.

Do you have an "issue" with God that won't go away?

2Ki 4:28  Then she said, Did I desire a son of my lord? did I not say, Do not deceive me?

2Ki 4:29  Then he said to Gehazi, Gird up thy loins, and take my staff in thine hand, and go thy way: if thou meet any man, salute him not; and if any salute thee, answer him not again: and lay my staff upon the face of the child.

2Ki 4:30  And the mother of the child said, [As] the LORD liveth, and [as] thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. And he arose, and followed her.

2Ki 4:31  And Gehazi passed on before them, and laid the staff upon the face of the child; but [there was] neither voice, nor hearing. Wherefore he went again to meet him, and told him, saying, The child is not awaked.

2Ki 4:32 ¶ And when Elisha was come into the house, behold, the child was dead, [and] laid upon his bed.

2Ki 4:33  He went in therefore, and shut the door upon them twain, and prayed unto the LORD.

2Ki 4:34  And he went up, and lay upon the child, and put his mouth upon his mouth, and his eyes upon his eyes, and his hands upon his hands: and he stretched himself upon the child; and the flesh of the child waxed warm.

2Ki 4:35  Then he returned, and walked in the house to and fro; and went up, and stretched himself upon him: and the child sneezed seven times, and the child opened his eyes.

2Ki 4:36  And he called Gehazi, and said, Call this Shunammite. So he called her. And when she was come in unto him, he said, Take up thy son.

2Ki 4:37  Then she went in, and fell at his feet, and bowed herself to the ground, and took up her son, and went out.


That's like the "issue of blood" that wouldn't go away.


Mar 5:25  And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years,

Mar 5:26  And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,

Mar 5:27  When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.

Mar 5:33  But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.

Mar 5:34  And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.

Some, in fact most all of my E mail and pm’s, say I am
“incomprehensible and off-topic”,
and most of them say I don’t make any clear point. I think I might take a  look at how I might be more explicit and clear. And thanks for the advise


My reply:

Everything I say can be proven with numbers.

I grew up a fundy but grew through it.

You see, I know them like the back of my
hand.  I've been in the camp.  They are just
as wrong as the atheists and I'm right in
the middle, catching heal from both ends.

Everyday of my life is exciting because it's
like the waters are parting ahead of me.

Curses....let’em come.  Laughter...let it come.

The devil made a wager with God that he could
show mankind the ugliest picture possible, God
killing his son for their sins, and that Paul would
preach that as the most beautiful picture
ever created and anyone could take that to the bank
and say,"God owes me heaven because he (or we)
killed him"  
They fell for it.  He said,"Come on kids follow me.
I have the mind of God."
They sold their souls to the devil.
The trap is set with bait on it.  (That's ICS, a trap, bait, and  baiter)
Paul said, and this is the first and last time I will quote him:

Low and behold, here comes an angel from heaven preaching another gospel.

Rev 14:6 ¶ And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,

( Let the trumpet sound )

Rev 14:7  Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.

Here's the everlasting gospel:

God the father, Jesus, went to the cross.

His son, the Christ child, Messiah, King of kings, is born after the cross in Rev. 12:5  

That sorta leaves out the possibility

of separation of church and state.

Now, you can read Psm 2 in context:

Psa 2:1  Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?

Psa 2:2  The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take
             counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, [saying],

Psa 2:9  Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.

Psa 2:10  Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.

Psa 2:11  Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

Psa 2:12  Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish [from] the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed [are] all they that put their trust in him.



Does God have plans, direction, vision, and purpose?

Dan 9:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.



Contrary to the present gospel, sins are not

"paid for", they are forgiven.

Those forgiven most will love most.

Life is about family and home, which I

mention quite often in my posts.

I am older than dirt.  Before Abraham was, I AM.

Let me tell you about my grand kids:

I have three grandbabies.  One is a doctor in Minnasota.  One is retired from
the milatary and little Johnnie Doe is only 300,000 years old and he's already
walking.  In fact, his birthday is comin' up again next month.

September 18, 1996, I went to the Netscape search engine and typed the word “God” on my computer.  When the result came back, it read:  “No matches found.  Your search is too general.  Be more specific.  Instead of “Dog”, use “Cocker Spaniel”.  I thought, “Should I search for “big God” or “little God”?

A few weeks later, I ran across this joke in the October 1996 Reader’s Digest:

Did you hear about the insomniac dyslexic agnostic?  He stayed up all night wondering if there really was a dog.

There use to be a commercial for toilet paper called "Mr. Big".
