Lethean has just posted a picture mocking a fine, sincere comic performer who is no longer here to defend himself.  I’ll have you know, Mister Lethean, that Leslie Neilsen took on roles such as Lt. Drebin with an almost statesmanlike dignity. Never has such decorum and gravitas graced the  satirical disaster movie genre. Mr Neilsen out-performed every other actor in every film he appeared in and won every Oscar award he was nominated for. And don’t go trying to assert that he couldn’t have because he wasn’t nominated for any - that would be a strawman poisoning the atmosphere with the oil of ad hominem.
No, Mr Neilsen was a fine, upstanding and probably devout man, unlike your precious charles darwin, who inspired racism, world wars one and two, and abortion. he also towered over your atheistic hero stephen hawking who was, by comparison, a mental midget. Here is a video in which Mr Neilsen is rightly described as a genius: YouTube
So apologise at once for this dreadful slur on a man who no longer here to defend himself, or I will formally ask for your removal from this site.
For shame!

I wish I could remember which UD idiot said that Stephen Hawking was overrated as a physicist. I'd love to lock him in a room and he can come out when he derives

It's even worse that that.  Darwin's ideas were so evil they propagated backwards through time and started slavery.

No. The DI started the war to distract people from reading the book.

But why wouldn't they do something in the country in which that book was published? ;)

When we read in Genesis the account of Creation, we risk imagining that God was a magician, with such a magic wand as to be able to do everything. However, it was not like that. He created beings and left them to develop according to the internal laws that He gave each one, so that they would develop, and reach their fullness. He gave autonomy to the beings of the universe at the same time that He assured them of his continual presence, giving being to every reality. And thus creation went forward for centuries and centuries, millennia and millennia until it became what we know today, in fact because God is not a demiurge or a magician, but the Creator who gives being to all entities. The beginning of the world was not the work of chaos, which owes its origin to another, but it derives directly from a Supreme Principle who creates out of love. The Big-Bang, that is placed today at the origin of the world, does not contradict the divine intervention but exacts it. The evolution in nature is not opposed to the notion of Creation, because evolution presupposes the creation of beings that evolve.

They tried, but they made the mistake of appointing the Bishop of Oxford as their English agent, so they all got tangled up in doctrinal differences.

The Jamaica Committee was formed in England in 1865, and Charles Darwin became an early member. If you think he was a racist, you need to explain why he would have done such a thing.

That would require you to understand who Edward Eyre was, and what it was that Eyre did when he was Governor of Jamaica.

Perhaps Kairosfocus can help you there.

Uncommonly Dense--when they're not talking about how much Baby Jesus hates Abortion--specializes in Evolution Denial, and, especially since the clueless Barry took over, Global Warming Denial, but are they going to stop there? Or will they push it further? Flat Earther? Anti-Vaxxer? Illuminati? Moon Landing Denial? Chemtrails?

Not that anyone cares but Joke Gallien (ET) just showed back up in the Climate Change thread, pushing his same "CO2 doesn't trap heat" stupidity.   :)

This time it's

Got that?  CO2 doesn't trap heat, it just makes it stay around longer.  That makes the average temperature warmer but it doesn't count because, you know, because.

What an idiot.

Yeah well since Joe doesn't think ice is water he can just say maybe it just will move around and appear somewhere else.

Maybe he was just pointing out that a higher average doesn't mean that it's necessarily warmer at any one given place?

Nah, probably not.

Warren Buffett isn't rich. The solid earnings of the companies owned by Berkshire Hathaway just make the stock price go up. That alone is enough to skew his balance sheet making him appear rich.
