To be sure, if the von Braun quotes really made a case for God (and/or creationism) it wouldn't matter what he did in World War II.  The arguments would make their own case. But if you're going to quote some pabulum which is supposed to be authoritative because of  who articulated it, as it is with BA's quotes, it might be better to cite someone who didn't supervise slave labor.
