It seems that Mustafa Akyol has written an article asking Muslim scientists to reject Darwiniac-ism as Ann Coulter would call it. I was reading the Wikipedia article about this guy and it seems kind of tame considering what I seem to remember being said about him and his support for a group that intimidated Turkish science professors. Did I dream that bit or is the Wikipedia article deficient?

nope.  you aren't dreaming it.

He said the stuff you're thinking of right around the time of the "kansas kangaroo court" fiasco.  IIRC, he was a participant on the side of the IDiots at the time.
