Quote | If a planet's atmosphere contains radiatively active gases (i.e., greenhouse gases) they will radiate energy in all directions. Part of this radiation is directed towards the surface, warming it.[3] The intensity of the downward radiation – that is, the strength of the greenhouse effect – will depend on the atmosphere's temperature and on the amount of greenhouse gases that the atmosphere contains. |
Exactly what I have been saying.
You fuckers are total assholes. |
The really really really simple bit you are missing bird brain is the temperature of the atmosphere affects (impacts) the Earth's surface and ocean temperatures through convection. |
Please explain how I am missing that. Or shut the fuck up |
Quote | Joke: "CO2 cannot act as a blanket unless the all of the re-emitted energy is focused back towards earth. And even then that re-emitted energy is limited in range. So it really doesn't help you. The energy all gets swept away well before reaching the earth- winds and convection currents."

Please explain......
Quote | The energy all gets swept away well before reaching the earth- winds and convection currents."
....actually don't bother Joe that is comedy gold.
It's even better than frequency = wavelength. |
If it doesn't reach the earth it cannot warm it. And seeing that the earth is radiating more heat than the CO2 re-emits how can the CO2's emissions warm it? |
Psst...hey dumbass...
When the CO2 re-emits its energy does it warm the surrounding oxygen, nitrogen, argon etc. molecules in the atmosphere?
Do those molecules mix with the entire atmosphere and provide more energy / increase the temperature of the whole thing?
Christ you're an ignorant dumbass. |
LoL! CO2 emits the same wavelength as it absorbs. So only if oxygen, nitrogen, argon, etc. are greenhouse gasses with the same absorption spectra, then no, the re-emitted energy will not affect them.
However the energized CO2 does bump into those other molecules causing it to lose some of its energy. That is why when that energy is re-emitted is less than what was absorbed. |
Christ you really are too stupid to understand conservation of energy
Every day you get a little dumber. |
So the earth is an isolated system, is it?
5 watt Walkie-talkie signals race around the earth, do they?
