Steve_h is having a birthday today.  We don't see him all that frequently around here anymore, but we should acknowledge his past work.

Dembski's research assistant, Joel Borofsky, got into trouble back in 2006 for saying that the "strengths and weaknesses" language in the controversial Kansas science standards were just ID in disguise. He had to grovel in writing on UD and Steve_h left what is still one of the all-time classic comments.  Alas, the actual blog post at UD has long since been sent to the bit bucket.  But, the actual comment was memorialized < here >.  Still makes me smile.

Happy Birthday, Steve!

Go Steve! Woooo! Etc.

Happy Birthday, Steve.  That was a beautiful moment.  I imagine Joel sitting in his mother's basement crying softly that ID would have won if it weren't for that meddling Steve H.

Happy Birfday Steve! Keep dodging that natural selection!

Thank you Steve H! Keep on truckin'...

Happy Birthday!
(That was beautiful.

Thanks everyone. But this post is wrong in some of the particulars

1) That's not my birthday.
2) I'm not 49
3) I'm hardly a forum legend:
- I've written fewer than 500 comments. RH manages more than that in a slow week.
- My comments have sparked little interest. Even O'Leary's dreariest efforts tend to do better.
- Heck, the regulars don't even insult my mum (sniff).

ETA: Kattarina's piccy isn't far off the mark though.

Happy non-birthday! your mum must be so happy that she doesn't have to look back in terror on an anniversary of what happened not-49 years ago.

A very merry Unbirthday to you!

P.S.--  Do you REALLY look like Peter Jackson in a sombrero?

So, when you set your profile to show your birthday is October 31, 1961 you were just trolling for attention and free treats*?

* Not unlike your mother, I might add.

OK Mr. Steve H...

Don't make us get your mother drunk - again - and get the REAL birthday information.

ps:  So start posting more!  And if you are as bad a writer, as you say you are, then you should have Posting Privileges at UD, so get cracking on it man!  There needs to be a cotton based life form there.

Imagine the fun and hilarity when you unmask yourself before them!

And Louis will insult your mother and bake you a cake.

Happy (belated, yikes, once again) BD, from one Steve to another...!

I shall take these point by point:

1) And? Excuse for a piss up. Deal with it. Happy birthday for whenever it was.

2) You're even OLDER? Crikey! That's nearly as old as Reciprocating Bill, and he's over 50.

3) If Carlson says you are a legend, you are a legend. Deal with that too. Otherwise he'll do to you what he does to horses....and that's too horrible to contemplate.*

3 subsection 1) Size is not everything. As your mother told Carlson.

3 subsection 2) We are all interested in your comments. That thing you did that time was very interesting.

But seriously, you ARE interesting. Sorry. That's probably a bad thing given that O'Leary's output also raises interest.

3 subsection 3) We will insult your mum when it's appropriate. Size of contribution is not a factor. We just have to be sure that you are ok with mum jokes. As you are sad that people have not abused your mother, we can take that as a sign that it's open season on your mum....

....well it's always been open season on your mum, but that's a different story.

Louis

*Unless you like that kind of thing, in which case, go to it! You have our full support.

P.S. I am not baking you a cake until you tell us your real birth date. Hell this probably isn't even your real mother I'm insulting.

My real birthday is September 32nd unless it's a Wednesday. You're not going to use it to steal my identity are you? If anyone at my bank asks, my mother's maiden name was "Mussolini". Hmmm caaake.
