Atheists by definition don’t know what truth is, so I’m not surprised they don’t trust each other.

And *I’m* distrustful of social studies as a rule, so I need to go get a cup of coffee and go find some truth somewhere.

Atheists by definition don't know what truth is, so they don't trust each other, because they know the truth that the other one doesn't know the truth, just as they don't.

If asauber ever gets busted for Crack possession, maybe Barry will represent him Pro Bozo.

The idea that the religious don’t trust, or believe atheists are capable of altruism, or moral behaviour, is as old as religion.

That atheists don’t trust each other is new to me; I trust atheists more than I trust the religious because I have the internet, a brain, and can read.

Going into any prison, worldwide would suggest atheists have a more coherent grasp of, ‘the livable, legal society.’

Any given statement from Coyne, or Dawkins, has more weight than any given statement by Schlafly, Fallwell, or the egregious Coulter.

Just watching a small amount of Christian TV on Youtube makes one wince at the bald faced, money grubbing lies of these TV evangelists.

The lies told by, and the crimes committed by Islamic ‘scholars’, Hindu ‘nationalists’, and Buddhist ‘mystics’, beggars belief.

No, I’ll stick with my predictably dull atheist friends, and leave the high morality to the religious, so they can kick the crap out of oneanother, and anyone else who happens to be near by.

Self consciousness cannot have a material explanation by definition since no material thing can contain itself.

claiming you win by definition is The New Hotness over at UD.

In other news, they're still a handful of poorly-educated losers yamming on a website, to no effect.

Here’s a discussion thread News started over 3 years ago, which deals with this 3rd way of evolution thing:

BTW, once in there, you may want to take a quick look at the comment @1090:

However, it will remain his secret why he thinks that especially comment 1090 is linkworthy.

Here’s a hint to answer the fundamental question “where’s the beef?”

Given any case of known evolutionary divergence, it could be described as:
Dev(d1) = Dev(ca) + Delta(d1)
Dev(d2) = Dev(ca) + Delta(d2)
Where
Dev(x) is the developmental process of any given biological system x
Delta(x) is the whole set of spatiotemporal procedural differences required to produce Dev(x).
d1 and d2 are two descendants of their common ancestor (ca).
Assuming the Dev(x) are well known, what hypothetical Delta(d1) and Delta(d2) could be suggested for the following cases?
Case 1: d1 = placental mammals; d2 = marsupials;
Case 2: d1 = placental; d2 = monotreme;
Case 3: d1 = cats; d2 = dogs; (use LUCA for ca)
Just point to the literature that explains this in details.
The explanation must be comprehensive, logically coherent and it must hold water under any kind of thorough examination.

Maybe it's some special kind of humour.

Ah, but that self consciousness would contain only a reference to itself, not its physical self itself.

Otherwise you'd have a self references a self that references a self that references a self that references a self that references a self that references a self that references a self that references a self that ...

I could be wrong but I suspect Eric worked this out after hearing about the failure of Flik's tunnel within a tunnel project.

From Denyse O’Leary (O’Leary for News) at MercatorNet: When I use the term fake news, I do not mean deliberate sabotage of news sites by, for example, Russia’s troll house. Or opposition research marketed as news. Or false information that merits retraction and results in dismissals as at CNN recently. Nor material that is outed […]

Are you suggesting that the UD regulars are being replaced one-by-one by fake alien replicants?

Dense:  ichisan at 2: But how will these Guardian people live? They want science without understanding or curiosity.

Can you imagine anyone at UD being like that?

On a completely unrelated matter, Dense has been nominated to be queen of the King Lear School for Self-Awareness.

I don't  know why Bornagain77 stopped posting on Uncommon Descent, but they miss him so much that DENYse has taken to featuring each video he posts on YouTube as if it was Holy writ.

their commenting rate is pretty low these days. When i get some free time I might spend a while counting up what their average per day has been lately.

After making fun of it for 12 years, I'd kinda hate to see UD go :-(

BA77 gone. Kairosfocus gone. William J. Murray gone. Maybe Barry is trying to stage the site for the purpose of selling it. All he has to do is get rid of Joe and Dionisio and he might attract a buyer.

You have to go back to the 5th post on page 8, 145 posts back from today, to find KF's last comment, made July 15, 2017 at 2:16 pm.
