RSR has comments enabled just fine, though they work a little differently from most blogs. Is DT too stupid to figure that out, or is that a dumb question?

Well, he can't cook rice, he's easily fooled by urban legends, he thinks Dembski is a high powered scientist, and for a couple months he thought Lou was a 18-year old bisexual female Marine.

So, yeah.  ;)

Nuh .......War Hero and Cheesy Poof Fighter yellow dick DT (yes DT the cure for yellow dick is to quit eating cheesy poofs while looking at porn).....wouldn't bother posting on a librul blog where he knows he would be disemvowled at first vomit.

Should DT be awarded a culture war Medal for claiming the most ambiguous bannings?  Does he see the world through the sphincter of a blog walloper?

......dateline Cyber Central, March 22 in the year of our Microsoft 2007. Fat Bastard Loony Right Wing blog dog Dave 'Tard' Scott Springer has been awarded a Meta-Medal for the Most Projected Blog Bannings.

In the tradition of his many thruthiness blessed forbearers his gut tells him everything he needs to know. He knows that anyplace that would allow his posts would ban him and if they didn't, he would make them ban him anyway just to make a point.

A Mock Cyber Chrissy Hind sings "I Ban Myself" thousands two UD bloggers prostrate themselves so he can walk over them.

DT dons a fake mink coat with the names of PETA leaders inked onto each fake pelt, a thorny crown and a bucket of Cheesy Poofs ...retires to his Scurvy Scow and flops into a massive recliner perched on the poop deck.

He removes his equally massive firearm from his sweaty skin folds and blasts at the floating empty Lone-star beer cans filling the space behind his dredge.

Fade to animated cartoon of Noahs Ark loading dinosaurs with sickening care bears type jingle in background.

Which brings up the reason I keep posting juicy bigotted and racist quotes by Darwin and his disciples here at UD. While the intellectual community may know them, the general public does not. Suppose the public decided that every time it accepted a “Darwin” (a 10-pound note) in payment or in change for a purchase, it was implicitly endorsing those terrible quotes? People would likely say, “No thanks, I’d rather have two fivers. I don’t take money that praises racists and bigots — and neither should you.”

You may scoff, but I've always admired Dembski in his tireless struggle against racism.  That is why I will support his upcoming efforts to remove Abraham Lincoln from the penny and the five-dollar bill.  After all, Lincoln was a racist, like Darwin, and we know that Dembski is nothing if not consistent.

So much for the critics who claim that Dembski is just jealous of Darwin's success or suffering from a case of theory envy.  How do they account for the fact that Dembski was speaking out against racism, loudly and often, long before Martin Luther King had his Dream?

That's hilarious, given how DT squealed and whined like a little piggy when insulted at Alan's blog and at UDoJ.  I love the tough guy Marine act coming from a tubby yellow-bellied (or maybe those are just cheezy-poof crumb-stains?) REMF who speedily bans anyone who exposes his considerable inadequacies over at UD.  I suppose being a hypocrite is small beans when you're already a known cretin, bigot, coward and all-round uneducated moron.

Quoting the tardy one:

Quote
If I weren't banned at Pharyngula, Dispatches, Panda's Thumb, ATBC, I'd get down in the mud with them. I was sergeant in the USMC and Marines aren't exactly famous for being delicate and refined. The fact of the matter is they can dish it out but they can't take it and if any of them don't believe that then I challenge them to unban me at those sites. Even though I'm vastly outnumbered they still can't deal with me. On blogs I try to follow the rule "When in Rome do as the Romans do." Larry Moran's evolution blog is the only one where I'm still tolerated. Moran has a thick skin and for that he has my respect. Red State Rabble is a real joke. Witless, classless wimp Pat Hayes doesn't even enable comments. If not cowardice I'm not sure why since he doesn't have any semblance of refinement to guard.

That is funny....

I've known many Marines in my day - most were just regular guys - not braggarts and wnnabes that spend the remainder of their lives yammering on about how tough they used to be.  Of course, there was that Force Recon Platoon that stayed in my barracks in 1986 - we had to throw out the mattresses from the room they stayed in because they got drunk and peed on each other...

Anyway, while my blog is low-traffic and not very active (I only occasionally update it), Springhole left one comment there once, I replied, and he never came back.  He is not banned there, either.

I also responded to one of his dumb claims here.  Also, never came back.

He is s typical bully - a coward deep down, only willing to mouth off to the big kids when he can hide behind teacher.

Notice that when talking about his role in the Marines Dave never points out that he was just part of aircraft ground crew. Hardly the tough warrior he implies he was. On UD he talks tough but without the power of a moderator he's a pathetic little man who scurries away from any robust debate.

Wouldn't it be better for Dembski to emulate his ID Designer Hero and become a burning bush?

And since I am sure that he is also a GW denier, he wouldn't have to be concerned about having a negative impact on the environment.

Burn Baby Burn!

ps:  I would suggest the Burning Monk scenario, but no way does Dembski have the balls to set himself on fire.
He will have to rely on His Saviour, I mean Designer to "light him up".  I can even hear DaveScot saying "smoke if you got 'em".

They're claiming that Al Gore won't take this pledge.
Well, I never heard of that pledge. I suppose I fulfill it; we have a small house that is kept between 53 and 64 degrees. We also plan on getting solar shingles when we have our roof done.

However, the truly significant carbon footprint is due to vehicles. Homes just don't compare to the CO2 output of cars and trucks. I felt guilty in the 1990s taking the bus when they weren't full - of course buses pollute - but that has changed a lot (and for car-loving Minneapolis, that's saying something).

So I guess I can take the pledge. I want to see how many of the UDudes have also taken it. After all, log in eye versus mote in neighbor's, etc.

Charles Darwin
Autobiography

Quote

Once as a very little boy whilst at the day school, or before that time, I acted cruelly, for I beat a puppy, I believe, simply from enjoying the sense of power; but the beating could not have been severe, for the puppy did not howl, of which I feel sure, as the spot was near the house. This act lay heavily on my conscience, as is shown by my remembering the exact spot where the crime was committed. It probably lay all the heavier from my love of dogs being then, and for a long time afterwards, a passion. Dogs seemed to know this, for I was an adept in robbing their love from their masters.

The Queen is also (as he points out) on the £10 note, as she is on all British currency.

The Queen has amongst her titles "Supreme Governor of the Church of England" and "Defender of the Faith" - the latter, ironically, was granted to Henry VIII by Pope Leo XI, and refers to the Catholic Faith. All British coins bear the legend  "Elizabeth II Dei Gratia Regina Fidei Defensor" ("Elizabeth II, by the grace of God, Queen and defender of the faith"), or some abbreviation thereof.

Does that cancel out the anti-religious sentiment of having the picture of a divinity student who became an avowed agnostic and was buried in Westminster Abbey on one of the notes?

I think maybe it does.

Sal seems to be an especially extreme example of one of those people who thinks that as long as you Accept Jesus As Your Personal Savior and cheerlead for the Invisible Cloud Monster at all times, anything else you do on the way is forgiven. He thinks he's doing us the huge favor of Bringing More People To Jesus, so someday no doubt we'll thank him.

DEMBSKI - IDIOTICALLY DESIGNED LIE!

This is from the Red State Rabble blog, and Dembski's quote mining of Darwin is even worse that we originally thought!  Read on - if you have a cast-iron stomach:

http://redstaterabble.blogspot.com/

Dembski Channeling Colbert?

Yesterday, William Dembski, the ID theorist, theologian, philosopher, mathematician, and sound effects man, who publishes the Uncommon Descent blog decided to add another area of expertise to his already formidable repertoire.

He decided to out-Colbert, Stephen Colbert.

Dembski wrote that "when I want to feel good about our shared humanity, I curl up with Darwin’s DESCENT OF MAN and read passages like the following:

The reckless, degraded, and often vicious members of society, tend to increase at a quicker rate than the provident and generally virtuous members. Or as Mr. Greg puts the case: “The careless, squalid, unaspiring Irishman multiplies like rabbits: the frugal, foreseeing, self-respecting, ambitious Scot, stern in his morality, spiritual in his faith, sagacious and disciplined in his intelligence, passes his best years in struggle and in celibacy, marries late, and leaves few behind him. Given a land originally peopled by a thousand Saxons and a thousand Celts—and in a dozen generations five-sixths of the population would be Celts, but five-sixths of the property, of the power, of the intellect, would belong to the one-sixth of Saxons that remained. In the eternal ’struggle for existence,’ it would be the inferior and less favoured race that had prevailed—and prevailed by virtue not of its good qualities but of its faults.”

Pretty damning, isn't?

And Dembski, of course, drives home the point that these sorts of views, while once popular, are now beyond the pale by adding: "What a great mind, indeed. What a wonderful human being. What a marvelous vision of the human family."

Is this what Darwin really believed? Is it true that Darwin's theory of evolution, as the comments to Dembski's post attest, is the basis for racism, eugenics, and the Nazi's?

If it were true, it would be terrible indeed.

Before we decide, let's do what Dembski and his readers didn't. Let's read the passage in context. Here's a link to the Project Gutenburg online text of Descent of Man.

As you can see, the first sentence cited by Dembski (The reckless, degraded...) is Darwin summarizing the views of Greg and Galton. The rest of the paragraph is Darwin quoting Greg.

Does Darwin do this because he agrees with Greg and Galton? No. He cites their arguments in order to refute them. They argue that if evolution were true, the Irish would "multiply like rabbits" and the good frugal Scots would, by their habit of marrying late, become extinct. In effect, Greg and Galton are making a powerful argument against evolution in man.

Darwin goes on in succeeding paragraphs to offer a number of arguments against this line of thinking -- which after all, challenges the validity of his theory of evolution.

Nothing in the paragraph, not one word, reflects what Darwin believed.

While Red State Rabble profoundly admires Dembski's skills as a sound man, we don't believe he's mastered Colbert's humor. Colbert is funny because we know he's playing O'Reilly. O'Reilly himself just isn't funny because he really believes the idiotic things that come out of his mouth and, for the same reason, Dembski isn't funny, either.

In fact, there's good evidence that Dembski himself harbors the sort of views expressed in the citation by Greg and Galton. Here are two examples from his blog:

"Policies which deprecated European culture, frowned on a national identity, lowered the birthrate, created a welfare state, imported ‘guest workers’, promoted mindless multiculturalism and relied on ‘international’ treaties for protection ... "
During the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina Dembski offered this advice on how to deal with looters.
So, here's our advice to Dembski. To be funny like Colbert, we have to know you're not serious. In this case, your history of quote mining works against the notion that you expected us to get the joke. We're left believing that you're just cynical, and that's a bad thing in a theologian.

Stick to the fart noises, it's what you know.

I was sure it said XI, when I looked the first time. Ah, well.

I don't know if the IDers' ability to keep me entertained will last the year. For sure, they're still capable of saying hilarious things ("I just don't understand how thousands of scientists can fail to understand their science like I do." "Stevestory caught me trying to lie, and that makes him a liar." etc etc). But the spotlight has moved on. It's like watching a slapstick vaudeville routine after the spotlights have darkened and the audience has gone home. Their moment has passed. The big ID strategy is no more. It's dried up to a baptist professor dazzling his students with jargon, some third-rate evangelists like Salvador, and a few dimwitted blogs. They don't even bother trying to publish their own journal anymore. It's still keeping me somewhat entertained, but I doubt it's sustainable.

It doesn't matter. You was far more correct than me. All I did was do a quick check and the only reason I looked was because of your post. So thanks.

They need a few more snappy science sounding phrases:

Spurious Inanity?
Vainglorious Assurity?
Guided Recursive Design Modification?

Trinitarian Actuated Recursive Design?

DaveScot's continued clownish behavior isn't enough to keep you tuned in?  :p

Watching comic-book guy brag that he was a REMF Marine 40 years ago was entertaining the first 13 times...

There will of course be a creation science 3.0; with new players, and new phrases for old concepts.

Maybe. I don't know what the #### they're going to do. There are problems with trying to change names again. For one thing, it didn't work the last time, it didn't even come close, and for another, they'd have to throw overboard all the young, enthusiastic guys like Casey and Salvador who are tied to the Intelligent Design anchor.

I don't know what they're going to do. I've even created threads asking for suggestions about what they could possibly do, because I couldn't come up with anything. They certainly haven't figured out what to do. At the moment they're in a holding pattern, just babbling amongst themselves on blogs, with no big moves on the horizon.

For what it is worth, it is my recollection that all Marines are expected to trained as a combat infantryman and be combat ready regardless of their specific assignment.  I don't think that is necessarily true of the other branches of service.

Much better.  The use of 'Trinitarian' shrinks the size of the tent.  'Telic' is much more inclusive of non-Christian ID supports. And we know how much the ID guys support diversity.
