HB 2107 is called the "Academic Freedom Act" and is an explicate antievolution bill.  It based on the failed Florida bill that made a lot of news a few months back and it explicately singles out evolution.

Oklahomans for Excellence in Science Education is the local pro-science group.

Thanks for the link Matthew.  I'm an Oklahoman and heard rumblings, did not realize we were to the point of attempted legislation just yet.  I think i'll get a hold of this group.

HB 2107, the so-called "Academic Freedom Act" has passed the in committee and is on its way to the House.

Meanwhile yet another creationist inspired measure is HCR 1043 which is a resolution based on the Santorum Amendment while HB 2526 has withdrawn by its creationist sponsor who is supporting the above nonsense.

The senate also has a creationist inspired bill: SB 1959.  SB 1462 is also something that will benefit the antiscience forces.
