Gordon's current hissy-fit is the most fun since his last hissy-fit.

I just dipped into the debate between William Lane Craig and Sam Harris being streamed live here.  Craig was up and I watched just long enough to see him trotting out the same tired old argument about objective morality.  That was enough for one visit.

I had to be out for the last 6 hours, so I return to declare that Jemima is my new HEEEEE-ROOOOH!! Talk about a slap down. Better than I could do. I think my efforts would have gone the way of mathgrrl's; ask the same question over and over in the face of blithering evasion.

PS: Onlookers, do you see why it is I spoke earlier about fever swamps and angry clouds of mosquitoes? I am sorry if my words are painful but consider what has happened to me at UD — not even ATBC — across a day where I decided to sacrifice a fair quantum of time to answer issues on points (having been accused of being evasive when I have been in fact busy elsewhere, starting with economic and constitutional crises following hard on the heels of an intense trip overseas). Distortion of issues and arguments, refusal to engage central issues on the merits, refusal to acknowledge plain facts, denigration, slander, outright lying. A sad picture, but a telling one on what has been going on on origins science issues, for years. Do you see how the faculty and administrators of U of K were so misled, ill advised and polarised that they implicated their school in a US$ 125,000 legal blunder?

can you believe he typed all of that with a pair of balls slapping him in the face

Over at Uncommon Descent, DeNews O'Leary reports a comment by David Tyler about a paper on James Clerk Maxwell.  Tyler quotes part of a poem by Maxwell in which the latter allegedly expresses his dissatisfaction with an increasingly prevalent materialist worldview and rounds it off by asking:

Quote
Surely Maxwell cannot be understood without grappling with these deeper issues!

Which is, of course, true in the sense that no account of Maxwell the man would be complete without a discussion of his religious beliefs.  Unfortunately, Tyler fails to identify the term in Maxwell's equations which allows for divine intervention to influence the relationship between electricity and magnetism and without which the whole endeavor was doomed to failure.

Or perhaps there isn't one.  Perhaps Maxwell's science works perfectly well regardless of whether he was a man of faith or an atheist and Tyler, as a scientist, should, in all honesty, make that clear.  I am not holding my breath, though.

He sacrificed a "fair quantum"?  As in "teeny-teeny-tiny amount?  Is he admitting that he uses a computer to write his comments?  Does he have macros to write out his commonly-used phrases, and merely hits a few keys to unleash 10,000 words?  Or does he have no fricken clue what "quantum" means?

Wow!  I think I just found God.  NO!  GOD FOUND ME!!  In fact, He hit me like a wet sock right in the face, man!  God found me and I found God.  And I found him in the darndest place!  See, I was watching BS77's oft recommended video, General Relativity, Quantum Mechanics and the Shroud of Turin.  It is super cool, man!  It starts out with really spacey music and pictures of stars and galaxies and stuff and talking about our COSMIC Horizon in Space and Time and stuff.  REALLY DEEP, man!  Like drugs, only better and you don't wake up sleeping under a porch with dog shit in your mouth - way better!!

Then it cuts to some Beethoven music and these words appear: "Contrary to the heliocentric discoveries of Copernicus and Galileo, the discovery of 4D space-time by Einstein, ..."  and then the video makes you wait for a moment while the slow-readers catch up, then it continues with, "as well as the fact the Cosmic Background Radiation left over from the Big Bang forms a perfect sphere around the earth,..." then there's another pause for the slow readers to catch up while the video switches to this really bitchin picture of a satellite actually mapping the Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation!! and more words appear: "gives us clear evidence that ANY particular spot in the universe may now be considered just as central..." (my emphasis man, ANY spot!) and it continues while that cool satellite continues to map out THE FREAKIN MICROWAVE BACKGROUND RADIATION, MAN!!!!! ,,,,, and then more words appear: "as any other particular material spot in the universe can be considered central..." while this satellite maps the FMBR right in front of your eyes in 3D man! and then it opens the sphere it's made into a flat map RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOUR EYES!!!!1!1!! and then, like Jesus Christ sitting right on your face, IT HITS YOU:::

THE VERY CENTER OF THE WHOLE UNIVERSE IS A SPOT ABOUT FOUR INCHES UP BORNAGAIN77'S ASS! ! !!!!1!1!!ELEVEN, MAN!!!

And he's got the video that PROVES it!  Explain that, atheists!

Damn you, you made me watch!  Are you really basement cat in disguise?

Actually that part of the video was the best part, since BA77 seems to rely on some sort of inference-drawing on the viewers' part, and doesn't have anything stupid.

The quantum mechanics part - quotes from cranks.

The Shroud of Turin: "The image has no distortion, as if the sheet was perfectly flat, so the body must have been floating between two parallel sheets"  It never seems to occur to the genius that another reason the image is as if it was on a flat surface, is that most paintings are done when the canvass is flat.

P.S. Onlookers, the image is actually distorted, so particle physicist is wrong there also.

P.P.S. Particle physicists doing forensics - WTF?

Just the "General Relativity Quantum Mechanics and the Shroud of Turin" title had me laughing and then I watched the video and the Pee Wee Herman narrator came on and I lost it completely.

Another reason why the buttocks are completely undistorted may be that the shroud was made by putting pigment on a statue or bas-relief, laying a cloth over it and patting the cloth until the pigment transferred to it.  At least that's how Joe Nickels made his copy.

Personally, my theory is that if two IDers both stick their thumbs up their rectums, each thumb will be in the center of the universe (which is everywhere according to BA Mechanics) which means they will touch and they can tap out messages in morse code to each other, no matter where in the universe they happen to be.

How can we ever defeat people with such powers?

Well, if we all stuck our thumbs up our rectums, wouldn't the center of the universe get so crowded that no message could propagate in a reasonable time?  Sort of like how it takes a photon tens or hundreds of thousands of years to emerge from the center of the sun?  That would really gum things up.

Lawrence Krauss debated him last week (didn't fare really well. Great lecturer, but not a top notch debater).

He published an after-thought on FB 2 days ago.

Or the mass might get so high a black hole is created and no intelligence could ever get out.  Actually, that may be BS77's problem - he's got a Jesus sized black hole up his butt.

Jemima Racktuoey and Gordon seem to have a history together:

Quote
You for instance believe that limbs can grow back due to prayer.
Despite the fact that we’ve never observed it. Ever.

You explain the single historical reference to such as a miracle, as proof that miracles can occur.

Yes, I know that because I was Blue Lotus. I got you to say that. And we spoke at length about Weasel and latching. Or not. And a $10,000 little bet for a quote you never did deliver, but claimed victory anyway. As you do.

Quote
Looks like the truth can only shield you so much eh? When actual facts come knocking then it fails. Care to prove otherwise? I’ll talk to you no different there then here, and you’ve spent 100?s of words on me already.

Sadly, I predict an immanent bannination.

Gordon E Mullings has been getting his ass handed to him by Jemima for years.  That's the difference between getting learnt and getting schooled!  getting schooled don't necessarily stick

"quantum" roflmao.  gordon has typed hundreds of thousands of words into the UD box over the years and has convinced NO FUCKING BODY.  making fun of him for it is just icing on the cake

What influence can Gordo have on " constitutional and economic crises"? (apart from burying them so deep in meaningless verbiage that no-one can see them any more)

Perhaps he's lobbying for an impiety tax, to be inversely proportional to the length of girls' skirts.

Or an incivility tax (which many would happily pay on the spot to be able to tell him face-to-face what a twat he is - perhaps we could sell vouchers online)

In any event, he does seem to be slightly ahead of Frill in the descent into frothing insanity.

Onlookers:

As you will know, after I spent a fair piece of time yesterday answering point to point on some key issues, I met blatant incivility from a circle of ATBC habituees who have come over to UD as a group to raise objections and sow dissent.

Recall, I had occasion to expose not only the usual trifecta of distractive red herrings led away to caricatured strawmen soaked in ad hominems and set ablaze to cloud, confuse, polarise and poison the atmosphere, but outright slander and lying.

...

Then, lots more words.

(with a bonus 'job' anti intellectualism at the end)

Okay, let me try to be straightforward. What would Jesus do? He'd be here, engaging the sinners. Mullings seeks not to bring light to the world, but to keep it dark under his own particular rock. Hence his lack of outreach and posturing for moderation and bannination. You stick it the them empty chairs, Gordo! Waterloo!

Yeah Gordon you ain't no Jesus

I'd listen to that effeminate little bastard tell me about loving my neighbor and myself and getting stoned with adulterers all day long.  While that little scrawny sombitch turned purple flavored koolaid into some kick ass merlot.

Gordon's particular beef around epistemic access seems to not only mean he can't know anything, but can't even be confident about anything. Just because materialism has worked every day every second for you in everything you do in your life, you should probably cast it aside and live on prayer power for all things from now on, you utter buffoon.

That's actually the whole comment.

I posted this response to KF and can only wonder what number of words it might generate in response....nothing of substance is expected but predictably there will be much spewage to follow...

My response:
karfo: First, I think you will see that I am not using “80? year old references. But, events with close relatives that were 30+ years ago, are in fact relevant to the issue.

The only fact presented is that you ARE using 80+ yr old references.  You've made nothing but unfounded assertions with no corresponding facts supporting any of your allegations.

karfo:And, no I am not going to give more details [especially on the web] on the health problems faced by a close relative; I have no need to prove my point to you by violating someone’s privacy. Let’s just say, we had no reason to doubt at the time, and dietary adjustments did in fact make a positive difference.

With no details (without mentioning any names, addresses ect0 I can only assume that there is now doubt about the veracity of the diagnosis.

That there are chemical compounds that demostrate estrogenic, androgenic, anti-estrogenic, or anti-androgenic effects is not in question.  Your erronious assertions of the use of growth hormones in poultry production is, however, the point in question.  The International Poultry Council (of which Jamaica is a member) mission it to specifically address the ignorance which continues to be propogated by people like you concerning poultry production.  That you choose to put forward these statements steeped in ignorance rather than actually doing some research is something that all onlookers can easily observe.

Kafo:I do and did acknowledge a misreading above, on GM salmon. Turns out the phrasing was that the “injections” were of genetic nature. As I have corrected with references.

Of course you had to ackowledge your ignorance because I forced you to do some actual research on the issue in order to back up your claims.  You obviously found out how wrong those statements you made were.

I see you also brought up the use of the explanitory filter.  How about giving us a single worked example of how this metric is used in ID research or is it a concept like CSI that has no rigor and is thus yet another useless metric of ID non-research?

In the middle of vjtorley's magnum opus, there is tiny flaw.

Quote
vjtorley: CSI-lite=-log2(1-(1-p)^(10^150)), where p is the probability of a sequence having a particular property, under the most favorable naturalistic assumptions (i.e. assuming the occurrence of the most likely known unintelligent process that might be generating the sequence). Where p is very small, we can approximate this by: CSI-lite=-log2[(10^150).p].

In other words, if we don't know what caused it, Design!

vjtorley: A square circle is impossible because it is unthinkable, even to God.

Of course it's thinkable. We just did. (Non-Euclidean geometry.)

Oh no! We just thought of something even God can't think of.

sounds like we need another gulag, boys!

StephenB, how are you with a pickaxe?  It's either go to work making little rocks out of big rocks in this Darwinist Worker's Paradise, or feed Tranmaw bites of macaroni and hotdogs while Gordon Mullings lectures you at length about the always linked.

for extra punishment (or as a bonus, it's all the same selective benefit in the DWP) you have to watch all those yootoob videos with batshit after taking some huuuuuuuge bong hits

Gordon's particular beef around epistemic access seems to not only mean he can't know anything, but can't even be confident about anything.

Believing anything leads to HYPERSKEPTICISM.

NO!  NOT A BONG!  My Dog, have some consideration sir!  Somebody put a lot of love and effort into growing the buds in that bong and you certainly don't want to waste them on a denizen of UD.  Thing pearls and swine.

I suggest Benadryl.  It's cheap and you can buy it OTC in any drugstore, thus avoiding a lot of legal difficulties.  You would NOT want to go to jail for getting StephenB or Batshit or Gordon  high.

400 milligrams is probably about the right dose, at least for the first time, then adjust.  That's about 16 pills.

Erowid discusses various people's experiences with large doses of Benadryl.  Notice how many involve spiders one way or another?  Now imagine StephenB, BornAgain 77 and GEM of TIKI, each with about a half a gram of Benadryl in their blood stream, sitting down in front of the ol' computer and watching YouTube HD videos on "General Relativity, Quantum Mechanics and the Shroud of Turin" with spiders.

For extra yuks, dial Denyse and hand the phone to Gordon.

...after reviewing the arguments, I’m inclined to believe that the critics of ENCODE’s bold claim were mostly right, and that the proportion of our genome which is functional is probably between 10 and 20%.  --Vincent Torley, uncommondescent.com 1/1/2016
