Perhaps you can still go... maybe the winner will get exposed (or "expelled" if you will) with published nudie pictures, and lose the crown - allowing you to step into the role! :)

I've gotten some advice on pitching myself to other expedition companies, so maybe I will go to Antarctica, just not on this one.

I'm not sure exactly what Luis did to keep the votes coming in, but he did a great job of it. Here's hoping his blogging has as much enthusiasm behind it.
