My beef with people like Robert has nothing to do with women’s sports, Denyse, and Title IX is little more than overreach and extortion. I don’t respond well around misogynists. And those who hide their contempt behind religious male privilege is not something I want to be associated with. After 9 years here, its time to take a break.

Take care.

Deep thoughts from Gordon:
Quote
Have you considered the ontological contrast between a patently contingent being made of meatballs and noodles etc, and a necessary being? Or, what an inherently good and maximally great necessary being is like, by contrast with a meatballs and noodles dinner writ large?

The man barely rises to the level of stupefying ignorance.
He has clearly never contemplated what ontological limits exist on so-called 'necessary being.'  Nor has he considered, even for a moment, the onological and axiological incoherence of the notion of 'maximally great'.
I suggest he get together with joeg to hunt for the maximally greatest integer.
Then he can turn his contingent intellect to the question of the existence of integers and "platonic solids" -- contingent or necessary?
He is almost as maximally pretentious as he is maximally mentally deficient.  Or perhaps vice versa?

Breath taking. I'm guessing Plato’s polytheism doesn't affect said warning? Or that the Greeks thought of the gods as naive reflections of the human condition? For example: The gods were suprised at Gordon's attempt at self irony.

Dense tried to link the alt-right and liberals and Darwin, and oh boy.....

As a member of the alt-right, and their theological leader, I believe I am sufficiently qualified to describe them. The alt-right is a group young White people that have rejected the prevailing notion in academia and the MSM that White people are inherently evil and deserve to be genocided with immigration and miscegenation. If anything describes the alt-right, it is a grasp of reality and the bravery to reject the influence of the MSM that few academics have. Comparing the contributions to scientific research it is shown via Twitter that White people have contributed over 90% of the modern advances in science. Similarly, evidence is presented that Blacks, while a minority in America, account for over 50% of the crime. Similar realism is found in observing the disproportional control of the MSM and Hollywood by Jews. Some would call them racist for believing the truth. An effective critic on the weak and cowardly mind. They would say that the facts are not racist. Another fact which they are concerned about is the demographic change in America where Whites will be a minority by 2070.

They are a key support group for Donald Trump, and this explains why his popularity never seems to go down, regardless of the coordinated attacks by the MSM. They know the MSM is anti-White, and reject its biases.

If anyone cares to find out for themselves what the alt-right is about you need only go onto Twitter and search White genocide.

Nevertheless – and I have to say this – the book contains numerous mathematical, scientific and philosophical blunders, which a sharp-eyed critic could easily spot. I didn’t notice them right away: like many avid readers, I skimmed the book for its most interesting bits, when I first received it. But when I perused the book at leisure, making notes of each chapter’s key points, the fallacies in the author’s arguments leapt out at me. What bothered me most was that the book misrepresented Darwinism, and exaggerated the strength of the case against it, by appealing to a series of poor analogies. In the end, these errors provoked me to such a degree that they made me want to take up the cudgels on behalf of Darwin – something I have not done for a long, long time.

Maybe I get this wrong because I haven't read VJT for ages and I will not start again but my impression is that he invented the slowest form of Gish Gallop applying the reverse mode of the hopping procession of Echternach: In thousands of obfuscating words that Barry will either not read or understand he will concede that evolution theory explains certain bits of reality better than ID-creationism while in the comment section he will insist that ID is still alive and doing well.

'Peter' has been around--shows up on global warming and politics threads:

PeterJuly 28, 2009 at 4:49 pm
While global warming may be bad science, it has been shown to be excellent politics. Global warming is an issue tailor made for democrats. Americans see the Democrats as strong on the environment. The Republicans on the other had are considered to lean more closely to business interests. With American presidential elections so close global warming may have been the deciding factor in electing Obama. Al Gore knew when he started the global warming hysteria that the msm would uncritically support him. Global warming has been a very successful, and practical political strategy.

that 8,237 words. That's not going to disappear forever. We're going to see that again somewhere.

and yeah, i saved it to multiple places. I've just scanned through it, but he appears to have talked to actual scientists, and presented their explanations as to why Axe is completely wrong. Heavens to Betsy!

Damn!  I saw that piece, noticed that Torley, after praising Axe to the skies, then settled down to ripping him a brand new ass and marked it for a more careful reading in the morning.  Now it's gone!

I wonder how much longer Torley's going to be around UD.  See my .signature for him abandoning ID on junk DNA, look around UD for his abandonment of ID on the differences between human and chimp DNA, he brought in a for-real scientist, Swami-what's-his-name to educate the IDiots about molecular biology, he's expressed admiration for Larry Moran  and now he's axed Axe AND had a very long post dumped down the memory hole.

I think the question now is whether he leaves UD in a huff, slinks away quietly or gets booted.

He still seems to believe in flying Padres though, so he probably won't show up here asking to post any time soon.  I predict a penguin suit in his future.
