Of course, the UD crowd can't do plurals. They haven't yet realised that "Discovery Institute" is the plural of "equivocating obfuscator".

I thought "DI" was either "deliberate ignorance" or "deliberate incompetence". Not sure which, though.

Has Barry Arrington closed his law office?

It says in this ad that he's now working for the Pearman law firm in Wheat Ridge Co, a Denver suburb.

Googling "barry arrington law office llc" shows his law office as being at 400 Inverness Pkwy, Englewood, Co (another Denver suburb), but it also says it's "permanently closed".

I wonder if his debt collection agency is still in business?

Don't you mean "bowel relief" agency?

Rationalitys Bane

Barry:

In the context of the comment explored in the OP, you had moral accountability in view. The stupidity of your statement having been exposed, you switch to legal accountability.

Sorry Barry, but I believe that it is my moral responsibility to pay taxes. Not more than I have to, but my fair share. How would I morally justify (subjectively, of course) accessing universal health care, unemployment insurance, welfare, roads, water, sewer, police protection, etc. Or are you one of these freeloaders who believe that you are entitled to these things without paying?

Again, as a tax lawyer, are you stating for the record that people don’t have a moral obligation to pay taxes. Does the IRS know this? Hopefully they don’t monitor websites run by tax lawyers.

Barry:

So, RB, are you going to say that when you said we should “lives knowing that we all bear responsibility for everything that we do,” all you had in view was “if you break the law you go to jail.

Still can't figure out why his law office failed.

Maybe he realized that "no business" means "no business taxes".

Perhaps he thought that "taxes" is the plural of "taxi" and he tried to claim his "business taxes" as travel expenses against his client accounts.

WTF has Bazza del Assington run out of Xstain bankrupts to scourge of their last shekels?

Has ambulance chasing ended in being chased by ambulances?

Has objective hilarity Jesus [Barry} been taken as the bent over figure of Barry [Jesus]  in his ass while being an actual ass, as an actual metaphorical ass rider......while an being an actual ass?

OK Barry time to regroup! First get a groupon for all the cunning stunts  you gave your customers who probably want to see you die in hell for being an actual cunt. Second get a sergeon to fix your reamed ass. Third get Sergio Leone and some spaghetti .....you know the rest of the story.

Another sock has bit the dust. R.I.P. Rationalitys Bane.

Although creating multiple socks is a pain in the ass, it may be having some unintended beneficial. All new commenters are put into moderation as a matter of course. And recently, they stay in moderation longer until Barry develops some comfort level. I suspect that this may also result in many ID supporters giving up.

There is always a silver lining.

That's sure to keep UD a bustling, thriving place.  :p

Still nothing from Corny, but there's a JoeG/Frankie sighting over at TSZ. And with a completely new set of arguments.

Dense and Dreary gives her opinion on women's hockey:
Quote
Tell ya a story: A few years ago, my sister and I were walking through a room which featured a wide-screen TV. We stopped to watch the slo-mo of a women’s Olympic hockey play.

After a bit, we exchanged shocked looks. That wasn’t the slo-mo. It was their top speed!

I don't know what she was watching, but it definitely wasn't women's hockey.

That's pretty funny -- a Canadian woman who can't tell the difference between women's hockey and curling.

Maybe, to be helpful to onlookers, all the UD people could personalize their avatars to let us know what chapters of the DSM they hail from.

Wjm to be honest I think you spend too much time thinking about your “metaphysical ideology” instead of just living it. Do you ever allow yourself to indulge in humour?

I don’t begrudge you your light-hearted superficiality, Pindi, but why come to a serious site for intellectual debate and then avoid it while implying those who partake are somehow otherwise deficient in their lives?

KF,

Do you believe there are ( in principle solvable) computational problems that humans cannot solve?

That’s what I’m after here.

DS, solve in their heads in 10 minutes without scratching down notes [but then some have 3 d chalkboards in the head], or with say access to NSA’s computer banks, programmers and years of time? KF

Can someone please provide with a translation?

My beef with people like Robert has nothing to do with women’s sports, Denyse, and Title IX is little more than overreach and extortion. I don’t respond well around misogynists. And those who hide their contempt behind religious male privilege is not something I want to be associated with. After 9 years here, its time to take a break.

Take care.
