Hmmm. I've been put in moderation because Barry got pissed off at me. He's a touchy fellow, and I'm pretty sure he doesn't like me.

He doesn't like anyone but who looks out of the mirror at him.

I am interested in what Barry and his ilk does think goes on in living things, if not chemistry?

It is a Wells established fact that little gear wheels put together to the most complicated spring driven clockwork do the job. Lookup "centrioles and polar ejection force", "rotary motors" and "ATPase", flagellum with "rod" and "drive shaft", flagellum "hook" and "universal joint", flagellum with "bushings" or "bearings", flagellum with "rotor", flagellum with "stud" or "stator", "flagellar filament" and "propeller". Dembski even produced a movie with high resolution pictures of the inside of the cell.

Listen to Paul LaViolette’s speech at the Secret Space Program Conference. He speaks of Quantum effects powering the Nassikas Superconductor Thruster. It uses quantum effects of the thruster powering without any power input and explains why. He is a very slow speaker, but the speech is tolerable if you turn it up to 1.25 speed. What he has to speak about is all experimentally proven, the Meisner effect. Because of quantum forces means it cannot be explained by regular thermodynamics. A perpetual motion machine is quite possible if you get out of standard physics. Especially listen to what he says at subquantum physics the Universe is an OPEN system, and there is a Prime Mover without which the Universe would disappear. This video also explains a lot of UFO phenomenon. Top Secret programs have been using this stuff since WW2.

An Open Letter to Archbishop Jerome Listecki

All science so far.

"Your Excellency, I humbly ask you to strike a blow for academic freedom, free speech and religious freedom, by publicly forbidding Marquette University from calling itself a Catholic university henceforth, and by revoking the mandate of theology teachers at Marquette University to teach theology."

Unclear on the concepts of "academic freedom" and "free speech".

Obviously, VJT is not much different from KF.

Mix in, a Supreme Court judge dies under strange circumstances and no serious autopsy is performed . . . and, he died in “assassination and cover up central,” since 1963. (Wasn’t there a question mark over a presidential autopsy and/or its results back then too? At least, there was an autopsy that time. And, a film of the assassination.)

Isn’t that rather obviously a red flag?

The strange circumstances being that he was about to turn 80, had a long history of heart disease, high blood pressure, was a diabetic, was obviously obese, was a smoker, and to help him not die in his sleep was provided by his physician with a CPAP breathing device to use at night to deal with sleep apnea which he didn't bother using the night he died. All of which was taken into account by his own doctors who deemed him to be too weak to risk relatively straightforward shoulder surgery because they believed he'd likely die on the slab.

But the fact he was in Texas, that's the real clincher.

If one believes that materialism (and a quite antiquated view of the term at that) is a conspiracy, there is no limit to where conspiracies can be inferred.

I read that Scalia was selected because he came from a long-lived family, and they figured he would be around until 90 or so.
With all that was wrong with him, he made it to ~80.

BA77, “RB, Perhaps you want to take it up with Ball…”

I would. Do you have his email address or his phone number? For some unexplained reason, he doesn’t comment here.

But what I have noticed is that you haven’t responded to my comment that Occam’s Razor has never been about accepting the simplest theory. It has always been about the theory that best explains the data with the fewest number of assumptions. Maybe it is the part about best explains the data that has you confused. Has anybody ever said that you have to accept the simplest explanation? Unconditionally?

If your theory about something, let’s call it ID, is the simplest explanation, it doesn’t pass Occam’s test unless it also is the best explanation of the data. Unfortunately, it does not pass that test. Actually, it is neither the best explanation of the data, nor the simplest.

What's up with Darwin's God?  The last post was on June 11.

Also, why does the "http://www.darwins-god.blogspot.com/" link in the bottom right corner of the home page take you to http://darwinspredictions.com/,....,...., which appears to be some sort of Asian backache site with a picture of a smiling Caucasian idiot at the top?

Cornelius had a brief spurt of productivity after Barry kicked him off UD (or after he left in a hissy fit, the jury is still out). Then after he was repeatedly criticized for allowing Mapou (Louis) to verbally abuse other commenters, even by other ID supporters, rather than address the issue of one abusiveness commenter, he put all comments into "moderator approval" required mode. Since it is impossible to have an interactive discussion under those culircumstances, interest just died.

But I do love the Asian back ache ads. I think it is a vast improvement.

JoeG finds it hard to type while in a straight jacket. But I am sure that he will find a way. After all Gordon KairosFocus Mullings has been able to do it for years.

Acartia: "Cornelius had a brief spurt of productivity after Barry kicked him off UD (or after he left in a hissy fit, the jury is still out). "

Oh, I missed that one.  Was there a reason for the banning or did Barry just come to his senses for a moment and boot him?

looks as if some old men just finished celebrating a future that never happened and already lies behind them.

Strangely enough, the old IDthefuture.com address will just redirect to a DI sub-page referred to as idtf: no future and ID not even capitalized.

Interesting.  The DI's article celebrating this "triumph" has this blurb

Quote
The highlight was the world premiere of a new hour-long documentary, Revolutionary: Michael Behe & The Mystery of Molecular Machines, written and directed by CSC associate director John West. Revolutionary does an outstanding and insightful job of telling the story of Dr. Behe, the Lehigh University biochemist who launched ID as a serious scientific insurgency with extraordinary public awareness.

No mention of Dr.Dr.Dr. anywhere, it was all Behe's doing.   Having Dembski bail on their charade must still really chafe their asses.   :D

Just a pet peeve: I'm not against combining Greek and Latin words per se, but it should be done the right way... Greek is a brilliant language to get compound words (very much like German), but there is more to it than just string words together. καιρόςfocus doesn't please the tongue. It should be something like kaironfocus or kairofocus. Any thoughts?

BA77, “Because of the evil that von Braun witnessed first hand, within himself and others, that made him that much stronger of a Christian, when he finally repented and received the Lord Jesus Christ:”

Another correction: “Because of the evil that von Braun witnessed participated in first hand, within himself and others, that made him that much stronger of a Christian, when he finally repented and received the Lord Jesus Christ:”

He willingly and actively used slave labour. He was a member of the Nazi party (lying about the year he joined when he emigrated to the US), and of the SS (that cuddly little Nazi social club).

“In other words, although von Braun was brought up as a ‘cultural Lutheran’, after WWII von Braun got serious with God,…”"

So, Lutherans are not serious Christians? It is true that Luther was an anti Semite that Hitler would have been proud of, but he is also acknowledged as the founder of Protestantism, which includes evangelicals and Born Agains.

All I am saying is that it is not the best of ideas to blame atheism for Naziism, and then use a prominent Nazi to support theism.
