I like them all, just in different circumstances.

gin and tonic after a long day;

tequila when I'm really looking to get blotto at a fun bar.

bourbon on a cold night.

rum on a date.

ice cold (as in straight from the freezer) absolut vodka when hanging out with a few friends at home.

no way could i vote on one in particular.

Hot sake.

But in church.

My roomate in NewOrleans used to make the foulest white russians I ever drank.  Her secret? Black coffee, cheap vodka, and Mylanta.  Kept the heartburn at bay, though.

Irish whiskey. A good scotch. Vodka. Mescal. Absinthe. I'm amazed AFDave doesn't make more sense to me, given the neurons I've killed.

I'm offended by the blatant distillism being displayed.  What about Scotch and Irish whisky/whiskey?

I do. I am a real ale fan. Would be strange to compare beer to spirits though. Same thing for wine (quite the Rioja fan atm).

I'd like to vote "church" but only if it is burning.  Can the church be burning?

Gin. Nothin' beats gin.

The upside to church is that you get wine there.

*shakes fist* Why are the non-drinkers unfairly persecuted?

(Least detested: fruit liquor, or something that can be mostly ignored in a mixed drink.  I think most alcohol tastes like something I'd use to strip the paint off my walls.)

((Why do I always spell alcohol as "alchohol"?  It's a habit I can't seem to break.))

Agreed.  I also dislike the taste of alcohol.

Edit:  It's why I didn't vote.

I do. That's why I didn't vote. Well, really it's because I can't drink much else besides beer. Almost every other variety of alcohol gives me a headache. I hate headaches. I really hate headaches. Unfortunately, the generally notorious - and therefore tempting - aspects of alcohol always involve a headache.

But I like beer.

How could you leave Scotch off the list.

Flaming Sambuca, in a large shot glass.

Tastes fantastic with 2 or 3 coffee beans floating on top, which give a lovely moccha tinge to the aniseed flavour. Blow out the flame just as the coffee beans start to sizzle, then knock back in one go (being careful not to swallow the beans). The hot liquor on top mixes with the cold underneath and gives a wonderful sensation as the two mix in your throat on the way down.

Best drunk after a large italian meal.

I have bad memories of Sambuca. Ever since that night I cannot stand the stuff, not even the smell.

Hmmm that's like me with whiskey. Any kind of whiskey. Just the smell brings on a retching urge. Although I never had 'a night' which put me off the stuff.
