There you have it: “evolution” through “gene loss.” I.e., “evolution” through “loss of information.” Evolution does not PRODUCE “information”; it DESTROYS “information”. You can read about in the book: “Genetic Entropy.”

In sum: the war is over, and we won! Congratulations everyone!

Since you have not honestly admitted you were wrong in your original claim about computers creating mathematical equations/algorithmic information, I am not going to address any other fallacious/red herring claims you make.

In fact, I have put a personal request in to admin that you be banned (once again) for trollish behavior.

Almost all mutations are deleterious?
So humans all have identical genomes?
How have scientists been altering the genome of organisms and cells for years without them all immediately dying?

“de novo genes, which, probabilistically, cannot be explained”
What about the explanations we already have for de novo genes? Are we ignoring those?

Please, you think encode is going to find function in the entire genome? They won’t even come close.
And what happens when they find that some of these functions are important for evolution, and not necessarily the individual organism? Are you guys going to count those?

Just go onto pubmed and search “de novo genes”
Do I need to walk you guys through everything?

It took more typing and clicking to post that comment than to go to pubmed and search “de novo genes”

Just another classic case of a creationist not wanting to learn.

I have neither the time nor the patience for what probably amounts to a literature bluff from Alicia. Is anyone familiar with these “explanations” and what is your opinion.

Right, instead of doing a simple literature search, you decide to ask the most unscientific community on the internet about….science.

I would expect nothing less from UD.

This article makes no sense.

I am a theistic evolutionist. So are Michael Behe and Michael Denton.

I oppose naturalism. Of course there is so much more to the world than nature. I do not seek accommodation with naturalism.

I oppose ID because I have not found ID arguments convincing. This is not surprising, because I doubt science can demonstrate God’s. I find science too limited in this task.

So, back to the drawing board.

Has anybody read PaV’s June 19th “The War is Over: We Won!” post?

Apparently, if we lose genes, evolution has lost the war!

Personally, I have faith in PaV’s ability to get things wrong.

Sorry for the delay. As you can probably imagine, PaV’s discovery that some genes are lost and that evolution has therefore lost the war has knocked us all for a loop. My sides are still aching, in fact.

Thankfully, she graduated at least a decade before I did. The educational standards must have improved in that decade.

Science is Supernatural thread

Replace "a working scientific method" with "a coherent conception of the existence and nature of the supernatural".
That's a much much harder problem.

Isn't "working scientific method" inconsistent with "enforceable in top-down authority", at least within the science itself?

Not to mention getting people to agree to the same coherent conception.

Plus, once something is potentially explained by some consistently observed patterns of evidence, at that point it isn't really "supernatural" any more, is it? Even if it was traditionally considered as such.

Yup.

"Supernatural" isn't a bucket of "stuff we don't understand but this explains how and why, and everybody understands and knows it for what it is."
No consistency, no coherency, no epistemological space for it to occupy.  No justification for the concept.
And it's all idiots like GEM and his ilk have.

Uncommon descent is the true gauge of Intelligent Design creationism's failure.

Squawks from the Disco'tute are merely the paid-for-shit from people without any career hopes.

UD marks the low level of the true believers.
