No no, I was suggesting that Joe needs a citation for the claim that he understands it. ;)

Joe has oscillated between extremely vulgar and extremely submissive behaviour towards Lizzie. Might this be normal around where he lives? If not - is there a medical term for that condition?

Another alarming trait is his preference for insults involving excrements; and I'm positive that there is a medical term for persons who get aroused by excrements.

Okay, he's riddled with conditions:

And now a personal note for Creodont2, whoever you are:
Could you please issue a warning for ladies faint at heart before addressing Joe with stuff like this:

Want to see what natural selection can do, up close and personal? Go to Yellowstone Park, go to the Fishing Bridge area (or pretty much anywhere else in the park), take off all of your clothes, pour a bottle of barbecue sauce all over yourself, and take a hike by yourself. You can even do it without the barbecue sauce.

Can't make it unread!

Joe is on the short list for the Nobel Prize for Literature!!!!eleven!
Quote
The Evo Song- Poof, the Magic Mutant (to the tune “Puff the Magic Dragon”)

Poof the Magic Mutant, a-t-g-c
And changed them just by randomness just to see what he could be.
Little Richard Dawkins, loved that rascal Poof.
And wrote him books to appease the kooks, oh what a silly goof!

Oh Poof the Magic Mutant, a-t-g-c
And changed them just by randomness just to see what he could be
Poof the Magic Mutant, a-t-g-c
And changed them just by randomness just to see what he could be

Together they would mutate Poof into a beluga whale
Richard kept a spectroscope trained on Poof’s mutating tail.
Nobel things and atheists bowed whene’er they came
Scientists would lower their flasks when Poof mutated a mane

Oh Poof the Magic Mutant, a-t-g-c
And changed them just by randomness just to see what he could be
Poof the Magic Mutant, a-t-g-c
And changed them just by randomness just to see what he could be

Mutations can’t go on forever, just like little boys
Antennaed wings and giant things doom nature’s mutant ploys
One gray night it happened, natural selection said no more
And Poof that Magic Mutant, mutated one last roar

His head was bent in sorrow, his tears fell like rain
Richard no longer went to write it gave him so much pain
Without his life-long friend Dick could not be brave
So Dick that evo-poofer sadly slipped in to his cave

Oh Poof the Magic Mutant, a-t-g-c
And changed them just by randomness just to see what he could be
Poof the Magic Mutant, a-t-g-c
And changed them just by randomness just to see what he could be

(repeat chorus and fade…)

Speaking of orbital mechanics, I have to wonder, if a small object were orbiting a larger object, far enough away from other objects to avoid interference, would the orbit eventually degrade (one way or the other) due to tidal friction, even if both objects were solid?

Another question - given enough time, would Doppler shifts of the gravity waves between the two objects eventually shift the orbit, even if it takes billions (or trillions?) of years for that to be significant?

Sure.  There is an energy transfer between the objects and that can't be 100% efficient.

Depends on the details. The earth's moon is receding due to transfer of rotational energy.

It's probably not receding fast enough to satisfy the aliens living within it's core. They are so not looking forward to the establishment of the Gingrich Moonbase. I'm sure Joe could testify to that in some manner.

I think the key word in both questions is "eventually".  For any sort of realistic "planet in habitable zone around a star" scenario, I'd expect either process to take many times longer than the lifetime of the star.  They don't help Joe, but you probably knew that.

Not at all, they're actually celebrating now that one of their own has won the GOP nomination, effectively squashing the moonbase plan, and setting in motion their counter-plan for world domination.  I for one welcome our new Romneyian overlords!

Well, you have to admit he's right about one thing - he's never backed down from a fight.  Given wrong addresses, refused to give addresses, wet his shorts and hid in his mama's closet...but never backed down from a fight.

Although if you look at that as "never backed down from a verbal fight", then he's like the black knight.  No limbs and he still thinks he can win.

Alien Nazi Mice - don't tell Michael Bay, he'll make another movie.

Anyway, you're all wrong.  I'm sure we have a base up there already.  After all, if Obama can teleport up to the Mars base to talk to the Martians, we have to have one on our own moon.  I mean, who can forget Matthew Looney?  I'm sure he's a decorated Real Merikan by now.

The idiocy of Joe's natural selection thread is truly painful. That he is only trolling for attention is a given, but that people waste electrons attempting to correct his spewage is simply upsetting.

But I have an idea.

What if  . . .

. . . every JoeSpew on TSZ was responded to only with the following:
