You forgot to say that they should do so with their respective spouses spice.

FTFY

and of course, congratulations all.

Coming up on anniversary #1 in August, our own selves.

I find someone who will put up with me, I don't question it. It has been 33+ years.

Congrats to everyone.  36 years for me and the missus.  Once you get past 35 years, you got it licked.

Warm fuzzies all around! Thanks to everyone for the well wishes, and they're well reciprocated. The only thing better than a loving spouse is one who understands and indulges your fascination with irrational creationists (et al).

I follow quite a few websites as part of my little hobby (I pretend it's research for a book project, but really I follow these guys like most people follow sports teams). Today one of the most reprehensible commenters I occasionally check in on, Vox Day, opined on how to teach evolution.

His commentariat recommends Uncommon Descent and Evolution News & Views. One particularly recommends the Discovery Institute's "criculum."

I was curious if the respect was mutual; a quick search shows News, Barb, and kairosfocus (among others) citing Vox Day with approval. KF is particularly enamored, providing numerous links to VD's screed about atheists.

vox day (ted beale) made a $1000 bet with me in 2003. In 2005 he admitted he lost and said, twice, that he was sending the money.

He never sent it. He's as ethical as his dad.

I was married by a defrocked minister. We're about to hit 20 years.

My cousin was married by a priest... the first two times and by a judge the third time... none of them lasted more than 4 years.

Small sample size though .

We went with a judge I used to clerk for. She was great! The chapel wasn't happy, as they don't normally do secular ceremonies, but I think they were very pleased with the result. (They had minders attending the service, due to the art on the walls. Interesting place.)

i'd have to get out the GMail archives, but basically, in a 2003 column on WND or somewhere similar, he made some kind of randroid jibberish argument about the dollar and the stupid ol federal gummint, and promised that the stock market would lose over 50% of its value in the next 18 mos. I told him he was full of shit and he should put his money where his mouth was. He bet me a troy oz of gold that he was right. Summer of 2005, I emailed him my mailing address and he said, yeah, you won, I'll send it. A month goes by and I asked him where it was, and he said, oh, i told my guy to send it, idk when happened, I'll make sure you get it. And of course that was the last I ever heard from him.

Providing very interesting information in almost all the discussion threads. I don’t know how he does that. Really impressive.

Discussion at UD must really be suffering if people are reading BA77's comments.

I see that after having tackled evolutionary biology (conclusion: evolution doesn't exist) and climate science (conclusion: climate change doesn't exist) UDers have decided to put their combined scientific intellect to the question of dark matter (conclusion: guess what?)

Robert Beale, currently in jail for tax evasion (scheduled to be released in 2019). Let's just say this particular apple didn't fall far from its tree.

Long story short, his wife left him, so the church kicked him out.

What's funny is that a running commentary at that church was which office staffer was sleeping with which minister. But divorce, that's right out.

Which is also why people don't talk loud in church; because other people are sleeping.

(What do you mean that's not what you meant by "sleeping"?  :p )

Hi News. Thanks for reposting the very interesting commentary from City Journal. I’ll have more to say on the subject in my next two posts, which should be available within the next 24 hours.

presumably vjt would have replied sooner, but he was waiting on amazon to deliver his new keyboard. The springs in the last one failed from metal fatigue. His new one's a bespoke model made by the same division of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries that outfits Stephen King.
